This is a review of our stay in Kichu resort Paro - deluxe room, from 26 to 28 December 2019.||||||Overall, will not return to Kichu resort to stay - sexist staff and very poor restaurant service being the two main reasons.||||||The two main issues:||||||1. Sexism and gender bias by hotel staff||||On multiple occasions, from the hotel reception to the restaurant staff, there was a sexist behavior. They didn't address me and only addressed my make partner. In the restaurant during breakfast and dinner, the servers didn't ask me if I wanted anything but only my male partner, infact they also didn't ask before clearing my plate but started clearing as soon as the male partner said he is done with his food, clearly there was food on my plate and I was eating but it didn't matter to them. Throughout they only addressed the man and not me in the couple, always addressing sir and ignoring the 'madam'. The hotel reception staff was no different, even during checkout when I was making the payments, they still kept addressing 'sir' to my male partner and ignored me. This is unacceptable, discriminatory and very poor treatment. ||||||||2. Restaurant service and staff||||The restaurant staff was the worst. We ordered dinner on 27 night at 6:50 pm for room service. No dinner came till 8 pm. We called the restaurant and inquired what happened to our order. The restaurant staff behaved clueless and said could you repeat the order, not sure who took it, can you tell the name of the person who took the order, let us get back to you. No one called till 8:10 pm. We called the reception and asked them to figure this out. No one called back. At 8:20 pm we called the restaurant back and asked what happened, the restaurant staff said that we will send the food. At 8:30 pm the food arrives, without any plates or spoon/fork to eat. On checking we find that it is the wrong order and the quantity is abysmal (we had eaten two meals at the restaurant so we knew of the quantity). On asking we figure that the restaurant staff dumped some food from the buffet which was not our order and didn't bother to inform us. We offer to go and eat the buffet as we are very hungry by now. At the buffet counter we talk to the restaurant staff as to what went wrong with our order. No apologies from the restaurant staff, they put the blame on us that we ordered things that were not available and they called us to confirm it. This was shocking! No one told us that items we ordered are not available and no one called us. When we confronted the restaurant staff regarding this, the lady who was very rude to us just walked away. We asked to meet the property manager. The manager came, forced the youngest employee to apologise, which was a very poor thing to do. We requested to not do that and listen to what happened. The manager listened and said apologies for what happened. We ate and left. Later in the night, the youngest restaurant employee and one more person came to apologise at our room. Feel sad for the employees who were sent as they were scapegoated. The restaurant staff really needs to get their act together. Very unprofessional and rude.||||||||The only two good things about Kichu resort were bed warmers and the late evening staff who was very responsive and helpful.||||||Overall, would give it a miss and never stay again, it was the most harrowing experience in our entire Bhutan trip which involved a home stay, heritage hotel stay among other accommodations and Kichu resort stay was...

Read moreBeware of this property specially if booking online!
We booked this hotel for one night, from april 10th to april 11th 2025, which happened to be the last day of our bhutan trip. The online pics looks great and we thought we would treat ourselves. We made the reservation using hotels.com and pre-paid online. When we showed up to check in around 4:30pm, the front desk person said that he did not have our names on the check in list. We were shocked and asked him to recheck. Even showed him the confirmation email from hotels.com as well as through the app.He called the manager, who gave us sketchy vibes. The manager said the following in the sequence below :1. First he said that they had no reservation from us.2. Then he said, they always have this problem with hotels.com.3. Next he said, their policy is full pre-payment and they had received our reservation from hotels.com and had reached out to them for the payment. However they had not heard back from hotels.com and therefore could not honor the reservation and therefore gave up our room to someone else.. what?!?!So as he was making up these stories, we figured out that they had acted in an unethical manner and given up our room to someone else so that they could get money immediately. We rushed to find another hotel for the night, which was tough since the paro festival was going on. The kind folks at Nirvana inn helped out and we had a place to stay for the night. So beware of these fraudsters and avoid...
