Hotel Mi Residencia — Hotel in Trinidad

I stayed here on a business trip and it was such a pleasant surprise! The women at the hotel greeted us warmly and made every effort to keep us comforable. Don't expect everyone to speak English but one woman does and she's lovely. The price was less than 30 dollars a night and they asked for US dollars if you've got them. ||You are a short walk from city center and very close to smaller mini markets/bodegas for necessities if you forgot something. ||The pool is totally unusable and decor is nothing to speak of. At night you can sit in the lobby of the couches and dawdle but that's about it. The rooms have powerful a/c units which were a godsend on the hot night. The staff will spray your rooms with bug spray to kill the mosquitoes and it's very very strong. So have them do it when you're away for a few hours so smell can go away. In malaria country though, it's a really good idea to keep that. ||The bath was small but had clean towels and toilet paper (which is sometimes rare in Bolivia). The shower was small but plenty of hot water (another rarity in Bolivia). They provide soap but nothing else so come prepared. ||The breakfast in the mornings made me so stuffed that I could barely walk! 5 courses! They brought first fresh hot rolls with meat inside, then toasts and jam, then slices of banana + pinapple, then scrambled eggs, then hot sandwiches with ham and cheese. Plus, they brought us fresh juice and hot coffee. It was so good!||I think you'll be happy with this hotel. You will find a friendly face, a welcoming clean bed and a spacious room in this...

Mi estadia fue corta en el Hotel Mi Residencia pero suficiente para conocer el abuso que a veces un hospedado puede recibir por parte de un hotel con el objetivo de sacar lal mayor ventaja posible. ||||La maniana que estuvimos ( ami companiera y yo) en el hotel decidimos hacer un paseo al rio Mamore cerca de Trinidad (a 20 min de la ciudad) y se lo comentamos a la duenia del Hotel, quien luego habernos preguntado el lugar de procedencia y de nuestro trabajo nos ofrecio a una persona (dijo ella) la cual podia llevarnos a hacer el paseo. ||||Al momento de iniciar el paseo, la persona recomendada que por cierto llego tarde resulto ser pariente muy cercano de la duenia, esta persona muy amable por cierto, nos llevo al paseo el cual lamentablemente no conocia del todo y mucho menos por pormenores del mismo, es por esta razon que perdimos valiosos minutos de nuestro tiempo (teniamo el tiempo exacto ya debiamos tomar el avion en el mismo dia). ||||Afortunamente con nuestro esfuerzo y el de nuestra acompaniante "guia" logramos hacer el paseo. Al regreso pudimos comer un pescado en el poco tiempo que nos quedaba en un restaurant particular. ||||Llegando al Hotel con el tiempo justo, nos llevamos la sorpresa que el paseo no costaria Bs, 350 o su equivalente $us 50 !!! por el solo hecho de haver recibido el servicio de transporte a un destino no muy lejano al Hotel de quizas 40 min ida y vuelta o menos. ||||Esto no enojo mucho puesto que habiamos sido practicamente enganiadas al recibir el servicio de una persona que no conocia la naturaleza del mismo y quien a pesar de la buena voluntad nos hizo perder mucho tiempo... ||||El costo de transporte llegaba a un maximo de Bs 50 ($us 7) en gasolina no obstante nosotras tuvimos que pagar 7 veces mas su costo. ||||Elevo mi queja ante este abuso por parte de personas que empanian el turismo en mi pais y sobre todo abusan de la voluntad los visitantes a esta ciudad. ||||Recomiendo no visitar este Hotel puesto qe eso llevaria a un abuso igual al que sufrimos mi...

It's a comfortable place. And rooms are spacious. Right now Wifi is only available in the lobby. Not sure if it's always like this or if they are just having technical difficulties.
