Kalahari Arms Hotel — Hotel in Ghanzi District

We were extremely lucky to have chosen to stay overnight during an overland trip from RSA to Namibia and then Botswana back to RSA , father, and two sons at this establishment.|On arrival, we were treated almost as returning guests, and the rooms provided were excellent, in contrast to the majority of other establishments during the 18-day trip.|What impressed us was the elderly lady who checked us in, Maureen. She took the time to walk us about the premises, tell us the history of the buildings and the town, and then go out of her way to fetch us pool towels and arrange for drinks to be delivered to the pool. The Dinner and Breakfast meals were great, and the service could not be faulted.|The rooms are really good as are the beds and bathing amenities, all function without fault.|The only improvement could be the online booking of in-house people, struggle with the knowledge of the product being supplied, took me 5 e-mails to make a single night reservation for 3 .|Nevertheless, I would recommend the establishment to any discerning traveler passing through Ghanz and i will stay/...

The Kahalari Arms Hotel & Restaurant is found in the centre of Ghanzi. We stayed elsewhere and were advised to try the Kalahari Arms restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food is good. You dine inside or at the terrace in the patio. Cuisine is international and the restaurant has an Illy espresso machine. Service is efficient and friendly. We came on a Friday, and the place became busy, a good sign. We shared a 350g Filet Steak with Vegetables & Fries and a Greek Salad accompanied by a bottle of Arabella Cabernet and Mineral Water. Picture of Kalahari arms when booking is not what you see on arrival- It is basically a construction site. Room not ready on arrival. Eventually we get room. Receptionest/no smile, not friendly at all. No porter to help carry luggage. Cleaning staff eating their lunch and lazing around pool area, plaiting hair, and doing pedicures all afternoon. Dinner-most wines on list not in stock. Wine is not opened in front of you at table. Complained to F and B manager who was quiet sympathetic. Spoke to manager the following morning, she was unsympathetic and obviously not interested in attending to our complaint. There must be better options for...
