I stayed at Camp Khwai for 2 days (June 15 and 16) as the fourth stop of my trip to Botswana. It is a recently established camp that is still developing. My experience at Camp Khwai was truly excellent!||Upon arrival, I was greeted by the camp manager with a hot towel to wash my face. A very kind and much-appreciated gesture. All the staff were very kind and excellent. A special mention to the two guides, Supirior, who shared meals with me and has excellent English, and Emmax, who has a great sense of humor. I did two game drives and a Mokoro in the two days. We had a great time doing the game drives with Supirior and Emmax. Thanks to them, I took many photos (lions, hippos) and particularly those of the hyenas that I will remember forever. At the end of my stay, I had a farewell dinner where the staff sang and danced for me; I was very moved.||The camp has 6 very comfortable tents. The tents do not have WiFi, which is only available in the dining area. There are electrical outlets in each tent, but you need to remember that they do not have a ground pin (see photos), so you need an adapter un-grounded. The bathroom water is not drinkable, but you have a very large bottle available for your thirst. If you come in June, remember that it gets cold at night (+6 C), so bring a wool sweater and winter pajamas. There is no heating nor conditioning in the tent. For the morning game drive, it is advisable to dress "winter-like." The afternoon temperature is pleasant (+26 C).||The food is excellent, made of meat and vegetables.||Perhaps it was by chance that I was the only customer at the camp, but I must say that I was treated like a family member. In the end, we took a group photo like old friends.||I have wonderful memories of those two days and hope many others have an experience as...

Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our time here. This lodge only opened in November 2023 and continues to improve things and iron out some bugs. We can't say enough about the staff who were extremely pleasant and tended to our every need. The camp is situated in the Khwai concession area and also borders the Moremi Game Parks. It is a genuine bush camp/lodge experience and located next to an African bush village. They will take you on drives in both parks. They were large grassed areas in front of the camp and we can just sit on our deck and see animals grazing and moving by all the time. ||We drove in from Maun but don't recommend this as it was 5 hours on heavily corrugated sand roads in an open top game vehicle. We felt sorry for the guide Supa who had to pick us up. Just fly in and spend more time at the camp. ||Some details in the rooms could be improved a bit. As they are tents they are not completely sealed and we had a few mosquitoes buzzing around during our sleep, despite the fact we heavily sprayed the room. The simple addition of mosquito nets would fix this which river told are going to be added. Unfortunately the water heater did not seem to work properly and the water was either scalding hot or went cold when we tried to adjust it. Other guests didn't seem to have this problem so it appears we were just unlucky to get a dodgy hot water system . Given this was the middle of winter, a lovely decent shower would have been nice but did not eventuate.||One hugely surprising element was the quality of the food. The chef is an absolute genius and he provided top quality gourmet meals. We don't know how he did it given the location.||If the little improvement and additions were made we would have no hesitation in staying here again. Thank you for the great...
