Ilanga is a pleasant rustic pousada on the way of Tartaruga beach. It's about 05 minutes by foot from the beach, and 18 minutes long from the interesting downtown. The surroundings consist of a deep forest and a ugly neighbourhood.||The 7th room was very nice, and the WiFi reached the bed side. But the sheets and towels were stained. I made a complain to the manager, and he said they all were brand new (from november's 2012), although admitted there was a issue about laundry then. He promptly solved my problem providing new ones.||The breakfast was basic but o.k, and my suggestion of covering up the food with plastic utensils was immediately executed.||I wasn't bothered by mosquitos. It's only a matter of shut the windows after 4 p.m.||Return to Ilanga at night is only acceptable by car (taxis charge R$ 18 - fixed price for downtown), as the road is very dark. ||There were a fine bar area and a nice gazebo facing the pool.||Finally, the managers - Rosana and Jackson - are really friendly, giving us good tips.||I had a good time there and I...

Our room faced the swimming pool and the beautiful trees from where the birds sang to us, anytime of the day, especially early morning to let us know "time to wake up and take a dip in the crystal clear bay water". The location is fantastic: 4 minute dirt road to the Tartaruga beach full of dolphins and turtles in this month of March. The Pousada restaurant serves great carpaccio and generous portions of shrimps in oil and garlic. No mosquitoes, the only drawback is the old and noisy air conditioning. But... Oh, well,...
Read moreArrived Pousada Ilanga after nearly a week in Rio.Our party of 8 were welcomed by Paula and her husband, who were willing to put in the little extra during our entire stay.||Nice, very clean and air-conditioned rooms.||Very social area by the pool both during daytime and evenings.||300 meters to the nearest beach Praya de Tartaruga, which was very nice.||All in all, I wish I could stay for some more days, but due to a tight schedule, I reluctantly have to return to Rio.||Pousada Ilanga can easily be recommended...
