When you walk into Pousada tortuga you will embrace yourself into a magical place , surrounded by native plants with tasteful fruits ( that are served during breakfast ) that were planted by his owner, Mariano , one of the coolest person we met during our Bahia trip. ||Not only the Pousada is cleaned and neat but also has its own private beach making an excellent place for those who love proximity to beach sea. ||Every morning Josi and Alessandra will prepare a wonderful and fresh breakfast for all guests . Not only the products used are local and organic , moreover Josi is a master in the kitchen . We are passionate about cooking as well and Josi shared with us so many of his cooking tips !!||When we decided to look for a place to stay during our time in Barra we wanted to be away from the more tourist area so the Pousada was the perfect location; however as the Pousada is around 25’ walk to the city village take into consideration this if you are not an enthusiastic walker as we are. ||Overall we have a wonderful staying at Posauda Tortuga and definitely would recommend to anyone who travel to Barra Grande.||Obrigado amigos ! |Junior & Jorge ||PS : Josi thank you very much for such wonderful talks during breakfast and for sharing some of your wonderful...
Read moreI did a lot of research on the "pousadas" = B&B's in the internet on the Peninsula de Marau and for our price range, we had two to choose from, but ended up booking 3 nights in this one because the owner was so friendly on her emails to me(and I sent a LOT of them)!||Well, from 3 days we ended up staying TWO weeks! The place is small, simple, but VERY clean(which is essential to us), nice breakfast with fresh bread, cheese, and fresh squeezed juices from local fruits. My husband is still dreaming about them... :)||The place is ON the beach, which is a small beach, GORGEOUS, and not full. There is a great and simple restaurant also ON the beach which serves nice, simple and good food at a great inexpensive price specially because the portions are huge!||So, if you are looking for some nature, friendly hosts, and walks to the villa, this should be your spot!||We really did not know Carol and Ceara, but they are now what we would consider friends. They do have Austin, the dog and Osama, the cat, not to mention the monkeys on the trees, so you should be an animal lover.||On our opinion, after spending 2 weeks in the Peninsula, this is the...
Read moreThe place is very quiet there are only 4 spacious rooms and is in front of the beach. Room is clean and bed is average comfortable. The pousada is quite far from the main village so when arriving to the pier with luggage best to get a taxi or be prepared for a 30 min walk in the dust. Same walk for the night to have dinner or to any other place. I would recommend the owner to get few bikes for rent. The walk on the beach is magnificent very recommended. Wifi isn't great unfortunately breakfast is minimal. Is very light always better? Warning LOTS of mosquitoes, come prepared, the owner forgot to mention and on the first night we...
