Manaus Hotéis Millennium — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Manaus

Was here on two different nights, spaced by a week or so. Overall, hotel location is ok, near multiple malls, but far from historic area, so a long ride depending on crazy Manaus traffic conditions. Hotel lobby somewhat small,for volume of traffic, hard to get a place to sit sometime. Rooms spacious, generally clean and comfortable bed/mattress. Staff generally friendly, but some look overworked and overwhelmed, again given the umber of people that checkin/checkout constantly. One of the checkout staff was extremely helpful, facilitating uber pickup despite the language differences. Bar/breakfast area has nice seating and friendly service. Breakfast quality was good. ||||What really bothered me was the bathroom/shower maintenace/cleanliness during the second stay. Wall tiles along shower edge/floor cracked with gaping hole and sign of mold. General caulk and grout on entire bathroom floor blackened, grimy and dirty, as if they haven't been cleaned, or if cleaned stains simply won't remove. I tried as hard I could not walking bare feet. Also, hotel couldn't provide early check-in (although I was only at hotel for 8 hours to catch a mid-night international flight)||||My first stay (first room) bathroom/shower was more presentable, cleanliness wise, but the very dark grouts/caulk even there give a persistent concern if it could be moldy. But I was staying only for a few hours (having checked in 3 AM in the morning), so I would have given 3 stars based on that single experience.||||Both rooms were pre-booked, pre-paid, otherwise I would have probably opted to stay somewhere else on my second stay, based on the feedback of another colleague/traveller (in our cruise party) who had a similar experience with her room at this hotel||||Clearly this hotel has potential, given the more affordable rates and a central location (even if not close to historic downtown area). 3 months stay and been one of the worst experience ever btw…

lets start from the top to the bottom:

ROOFTOP: pool always extremely dirty jacuzzi not working sauna always been in “maintenance “ never worked. really basic gym, only 1 machine and thats it. Incomplete.

ROOMS: north side rooms with mosquitoes and smell from river and south side rooms with loud noise of machinery from next building central AC. In both cases better leave windows closed. hot water 1 day a week now been missing for 3 weeks internet really bad not suitable for home office.( 2-3 mbps) The room itself is actually pleasant and comfortable can’t ear neighbors which is good A/C good -old televisions not smart.

STAFF: reception staff have no respect, they cut the phone line in your face when they busy instead of picking up and say they busy. No management at all. Everyone does whatever they want. hard to get clean up and /or contact them. There is still a few friendly employees.

LOCATION: located near shopping mall, grocery stores, health services and public transportation. Near Vieralves area with a couple of bars and restaurants. central location to go anywhere in the city. still nothing to do in the area except a...

Some odd smell from my hotel room. It smells like mold infection or something. Furniture is completely out of date, looks like some old furniture that is unattractive from the 60'es and it looks very used.||Bathroom: There is a high over pressure from the water tap. It is a little bit funny, because you can not even fill a glass of water peacefully. If you try to fill a glass of water, you will splash all over the places. ||When I wanted to take a swim in this morning, the pool was a bit dirty.||The door to my room is not easy to open.||The TV channels list that they provide, the numbering is not corresponding to the TV. ||I also felt a bit rude hotel staff, specially when I have had to eat breakfast. This guy asked me something in Portuguese and I told him that I didn't understand him. Apparently he is asking for my room number. There were many other tourist, and this guy didn't even ask for their room number. This is clearly discrimination and very unacceptable behavior. ||The breakfast was not impressive. I didn't even know what to eat, because the breakfast was not exciting. ||The hotel is located in a fine place, near shopping malls and everything else.||Honestly, I don't think that I will choose this...
