Pousada Manga Rosa Natal — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Natal

The Manga Rosa is a “Pousada” which technically is not a hotel and closer to a B&B. From our perspective it felt more like a small hotel but not a boutique hotel.||||The hotel is literally 20-30yds from the water. Although there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance, none of them is worth mentioning. We went to 4 restaurants and they all offer the expected seafood fair, salads, meats/chicken, etc. We didn’t get sick, the service was good, the ambience was beach-like and prices were fair. But none would get a grade above 6 out of 10. On a night we wanted something more flavorful we drove to “Camarão Potiguar”, also in Ponta Negra - they get an 8, but mostly for their super impressive order-service-serving process. Food was a 7.||||The Manga Rosa has a crew of very nice service people. Although they didn’t seem to have much creativity or flexibility to provide support out of the established parameters, within their capabilities they were helpful and nice to deal with. To us it was a surprise that a hotel that close to the beach did not have beach towels. When we asked the answer was a sympathetic “no” without options. When we got to the room we realized that we were issued literally 2 small bath towels and that was it. No face towel, no mini-towel (make-up wiper), nothing! So, the option of taking one extra regular towel to the beach was non-existent. Along with that, the rest of the room, and common areas made me call the whole offering as “Spartan”.||||Our room had a small balcony facing the street and the beach but big enough for 2 people to sit in. Because the hotel is fairly small and the construction close to the street sitting in the balcony gave us a small town, intimate feeling like we could participate in the life below. Food was a 7.||||On the fourth floor is the restaurant where breakfast is served (no other meals are prepared there). The location is open with just a thatched roof above and no windows, so you have a big view and a nice breeze. Again, super nice location. The food was acceptable but not to international standards.||||Overall, for the purpose of R&R, great location, no frills hotel, easy access. We enjoyed it. But if you’re looking for a more active nightlife, a more thoughtful food or a plush hotel, this would not be your destination. You can find it in Ponta Negra, just not...

We stayed in the Pousada 4 nights, paying 2500 reais (aruond 800 Euros).||||Welcoming: we arrived before the official check-in time and, fortunally, our room was already ready so they gave us the keys. Very nice (none was able to speak english, just a bit of Spanish).||||Room: We stayed at the first floor. Our room, as requested, had the ocean view and a small balcony over the beach. The room (no. 202) was very small (smaller than the other we saw) and had no guardrobe (just a small space to put few clothes over the security box). The bathroom was also very small and had no window. The courtesy set (such as bath soap, shampoo, etc. have been furnished just once for the whole stay...not enough...). Everything was clean and toels have been changed every day (although it was supposed to happen every 2 days). The Area in June is very humid and rainy, it was necessary to keep the door of the balcony always open to avoid our clothes and stuff smelling (the room because of the humidity was a bit smelling).||||Breackfast: breackfast is rich and served in a terrace located in the last floor of the pousada. very nice.||||Surroundings: the pousada is few steps from the Ponta negra beach and the Morro do careca. the area is pleanty of restaurants, bars and clubs. Notwithstanding the fact that the room was just over the street, it was not noisy and we have slept very well (with the noise of the Ocean).||||we booked, trough the pousada, an excursion to the dunas and the price we paid has been not...

The inn is very comfy and best of all, it is only a few steps away from the beach. The location that the inn is situated is less busy and quiet. You can walk to many restaurants and stores in the area. It is very convenient. ||We stayed at a room on a second floor without a balcony, I would recommend taking the one with the balcony option on the second or third floor if possible. Its about R$50 more expensive but worth the money! The rooms are spacious and comfy. However, the double bed is made up of 2 individual single beds which might be weird for a couple.||The complimentary breakfast might have less options but the make to order crepes are pretty good. Staffs are friendly...
