Our experience staying here was good and I'm glad we went. Our party of six consisted of 2 couples in their forties and 2 teens. It was a quick getaway from Recife for a few days. The hotel itself is nicely appointed. The owner was there the whole time we were, and she was very friendly and seemed eager to share opinions and suggestions. The staff was pleasant and did their job well. But, by the time we left, we didn't feel that we had made new friends that we would need to return to in the future - which has been our experience a few times at other places in the northeast of Brasil. Also, you wouldn't know that you were anywhere near a beach while in your room our around the hotel. This was just a little disappointing. Being in such a beautiful part of the country, I want to see the water and/or hear the waves. That being said, the hotel certainly has its own charm and appeal and from our room it was a mere 4 to 5 minute leisurely walk to a very unspoiled and quiet beach. ||||One of the best features of this place is the overlook that takes just 10 minutes to hike up to and yields a beautiful view of the ocean and the coconut plantation. You'll want to cool off in the pool afterwards so you might as well just put your swimsuit on before you walk up the hill. Additionally, the natural surroundings were great. Ripe mangos were just dropping off the trees at your feet while you strolled around. Peacocks, hummingbirds and ostrich (or maybe emu) were among the creatures we saw during our visit. ||||The typical northeastern breakfast that we were served was freshly prepared and plentiful and was included in the room rate. The hotel also served lunch and dinner from a decent menu selection, and had a full service bar available all day.||||There is free wifi as long as you hang around the main building in front and near the pool, but the signal was too weak to access from our 2 rooms or even outside the rooms on the terrace. ||||We enjoyed our time there and found absolutely nothing to complain about. Yet, if given the chance to return to Japaratinga, we may try to find another pousada that has a room with a view... or maybe we just...
Read moreWe were traveling in smal group of four people (two couples), by car from Recife to Japaratinga. We left Boa Viagem (Close to Recife's Airport) and drove down the highway 101 up to the town of Cabo de Santo Agostinho, then took the State highway PE 60 in the direction of São José da Coroa Grande at the border of Pernambuco and Alagoas (Brazilian Federal States). Next town in Alagoas is Maragogi. After Maragogi we drove a few minutes and just about a few hundred meters before the town of Japaratinga, on the right side of the road, before a small bridge we found the POUSADA PARAÍSO DOS COQUEIRAIS. The place is very pitoresque, near a mangroove and the beach is just accross the road!!! The accomodations are clean, with a large bed and a balcony with a hammock and a nice view to the nature. This pousada is located in a huge area full of coconut palms, some peacocks are just free in the nature walking around the Pousada's area and just a few meters away you can see some ostriches too!!! You can go up to a mount and have a wonderful view from the whole area of Japaratinga and its beaches. Excellent breakfast and the restaurant offers excellent regional food for a reasonable price. I really recomend...
