Pousada Xuê — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Porto Calvo-São Luís do Quitunde

This is a perfect getaway spot for anyone seeking a calm and relaxing area with impeccable service and high quality food. My wife and I spent 4 nights at Pousada Xue this July 2021 and enjoyed it tremendously. It is a small, intimate Pousada comprised of 5 seperate bungalows, furnished in a basic, rustic style. Nothing fancy but all you need. AC, TV, hot water etc. The charm however is in the overall ambience and the lush green setting, as well as the beach seating under the beautiful swaying palm trees literally at your doorstep. The food quality and variety is exceptonal and the ingredients are clearly carefully picked and selected by the owners. Which brings me to the main reason this was such an exceptional stay: Mariella, the owner is simply fantastic! She is sweet, accomodating, helpful and courteous, not to mention very efficient as a manager. She will go out of her way to help every guest and to make them feel at home. She even had the menus translated to English for us and gave us a copy to use throughout our stay! We had some car trouble, and she got in her car and went looking for us! and tried to arrange for a tow truck (we eventually didnt need it) In short, Mariella alone is a good enough reason to visit this Pousada and to spend some quality time in a beautiful serene environment. Lastly, and this is not a critique but rather a general observation about the area...This is more suited for couples or friends who are seeking a quiet, refined getaway from their hectic lives. This is simply a wonderful place - if you love great food and want to properly relax just stay here.||The rooms are beautifully done, simple, charming and spacious and super comfortable.||The number of rooms makes this place very relaxing, there only being five. It has a calmness which we loved and the surrounding garden areas are beautifully kept and the decor is very tasteful and well done.||Mali was lovely and attentive, helping us with directions and whatever else we needed and the staff are super nice too.||But the main reason to stay here is the food. It is sensational. It was so good we only ate somewhere else once, wanting to try everything on the menu. My second time staying at Xuê, but this time I got the house facing the sea and it is absolutely amazing. Mari and her team are the nicest people on earth and everything here feels special without being luxurious. The linens, the decor, the shower, even the hairdryer is good!
