Gran Hotel Stella Maris Urban Resort & Conventions — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Salvador

I spent a week with family. Got 2 rooms. Hotel People general speaking is kind. Just be careful before you book. I thought it was a resort, and it is just a hotel with nice view and swimming pool. |If you do exercise. the gym does not have water for hotel guest. So you need to pay for it. they don't have any pure water drinker over the whole hotel. each small bottle lf water will cost from 6-8 reals like 1.2 -1.6 reals. They charge you for pool towels. 5 reals per towell and you can only exchange it once, otherwise you need to pay again. Do the math before you book the hotel. The ice cream on scoop 15 reals aprox 3 dollars. the Burger container outside close to swimming pool each burger with fries 10usd aprox 50 reals. Breakfast place does not have air-conditioned over all the restaurant, only 1 once section and does not give you a cool temperature. If you do not mind to sweat while having breakfast, then it will not be a big deal for you. the lunch buffet place at the pool charge you per adult around 80 reals like 18usd per person. they have fish meat and chicken but there do not tell you when you get it. if you do not ask you will not see it on the buffet table. besides if you want to drink a coffee after eating lunch. they do not offer coffee or sell it. you need to get out and go yo other place. I never been in a restaurant in Brazil where there is no coffee. The food over all is not the best.it is better to go out and your lunch and dinner outside if you want to eat goof food. The A/C did not work but they fixed. While they were fixing the A/C from my room, over the radio from the worker I heard there were at least 3 other rooms complaining about the same A/C issue. If you like dessert one Churro cost 14-18 reals around 3usd. Don't think about bringing your own food or drinks because is not allowed unless you eat it and drink it in your room. I do not think they deserve the name of Resort. they are just a decent hotel.Rooms are ver simple but clean.The pool is very nice but is not clean.(meaning clear water where you can see the bottom/floor). Bahia Salvador is great place for vacation. Very nice beaches ,I have been in several beaches from the south and North East from Brazil and I totally recommend to visit Salvador.the weather is fantastic. No.very hot . Perhaps we were lucky. One more comment, the internet from Hotel is horrible. Don't even think about using Netflix , youtube etc and does not work over all hotel. Hope they improve the internet quality. I will be back to Salvador , but will look for other hotel or look for a real resort. my last comment is that in the swimming pool they play announcements on a on during all day for you to visit their restaurants,churros, ice cream places erc... it is annoying. Everyone that stay in the hotel can see the places while you are in the swimming pool. They keep pushing you to spend money in their hotel. Anyway. Hope this...

The hotel is not a 5 stars hotel in any means, and here is why: The hotel looks old and is old. The pictures are not representative of of how the hotel really looks. A lot of photoshop for sure The rooms and all the furniture is old and it has that smell of humidity and oldest place There’s no concept of resort at all. There’s no charge to the room option, and you must pay in the place that you want to be: pool bar, restaurant, coffee shop. And it’s up to the are if they want to open a bill for you or not They charge for the use of towels in the pool. Yes, the hotel towels for use in the pool, they charge you for use them. Insane!!! Internet doesn’t work at all. Nothing, zero, nada!!!

It’s not close to the city center and all the attractions from Salvador Bahia.

Don’t stay here unless you need to.

It was really great. The lobby is huge and you have a lot of places to stay and have fan with game machines. The cleanup in the hole hotel its perfect, rooms are great, balconies are quite good and the bathrooms and restrooms are really well. I don't recommend the dinning room at all but you can also go to and italian restaurant that is under the lobby. The kids club its excellent and the coaches that take care of the children are awesome. The pool its really big and deep enough, there is music and sometimes live music but there is not lifeguard on duty, also you can get easily to the beach and rent an umbrella.
