Casinha Amarela is a paradise of its own. When we arrived, Cris and Daria, the wonderful owners were standing at the porch waiting for us. They introduced us to their haven and a rare gem it is! Casinha Amarela is set inside a beautiful tropical garden and the houses are placed in a way that we never had to interact with anyone if we didn't want to. The houses (we stayed at both) are large, tastefully decorated and very clean (plus the beds are hard - great for sore backs). The houses have their individual outside dining area, where every morning (after we wake up to the smell of coffee) the most exquisite breakfasts (using only fresh produce from the island) is served by two lovely staff members. ||Cris and Daria are happy to arrange any kind of activity (horse back riding, canoe trips, fishing excursions) but they mainly adivse their guests just to be. Being is easy on an island with no cars, no banks, generally low tourism and the internet connection being so slow, it might be faster to write a letter.||We loved Casinha Amarela and we loved staying with two so wonderful hosts who generously made our stay on Boipeba like a honeymoon. We will be back as soon...
Read moreVery difficult, choosing what we liked best about pousada Casinha Amarela. Was it its off the beaten track location, the free motorboat transfer to the main island, or the amazing breakfast served by ever-smiling Daria and her staff? Actually, all of this combined made our stay hard to compare to any other we experienced in Brasil. Casinha Amarela is the tropical hideaway you long for after the hustle and bustle of one or several of Brazil's capitals. We arrived after a two-day visit to Salvador de Bahia, and loved the tranquillity and safety of Ilha de Boipeba as well as the kindness of its inhabitants.||||Our room, or rather, house, was impeccable. Very clean and comfortable. The grounds of the pousada are maintained just as well and the pousada offers a private beach. The owners suggested several outings in the area for us, all of them wonderful and adding to the magical charm of...
Read moreStayed at Casinha Amarela the last few days and cant say otherwise that its a small paradise. Only reachable by boot from the small town of Boipeba. The posada has its own private boot which can bring you back and forth. The small houses where you stay are beautifully built in traditional way with wooden floors and a high ceiling. With the small provided fan the nights are cool enough. Just in front you can dive in to the river (watch out for the low tide) and have a refreshing swim. A little further (across the river) you can visit the most beautiful beaches. Included is one of the best breakfasts we ever had. Fresh baked pastries, fresh fruits from the region and fresh fruit juice. Everything for a...
