Pousada Horizonte Azul — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Valença

This is the second time we stayed at Horizonte Azul, the last being about three years ago. We normally don’t go back to places we enjoyed very much because it seems that the second time around the experience usually doesn’t live up to our memories. We are glad we broke the rule in this case because our second time was even better than the first.||||The location is nothing short of perfect, close to the town and beach, yet away from the crowds. This inn has a common layout for this type of lodging, with bungalows distributed about the property. But in the case of Horizonte Azul, the property is very charming, with many trees, ornamental plants, and hummingbirds hovering around. The layout also ensures privacy and quiet.||||The rooms are large and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed some touches, such as the mosquito net over the bed, the outstanding quality of the mattress, pillows and bedding, efficient air-conditioner, and a full-sized, decent soap bar, not those miniature things. The rooms have no hair dryer or TV, and, to be honest, we did not miss them. The wifi is free and very good.||||Breakfast is not buffet, but brought to your table. Yet it is incredibly generous and well prepared. It included fruit, breads, cakes, juice, coffee, tea or milk, and local specialties. Beautiful pousada in Boipeba. My husband and I stayed here 3 nights at the end of May and really loved it! Cris, the owner, is a charming French gentleman and always very present and helpful and Francisco at breakfast was a delight of politeness and kindness. Breakfast itself was absolutely delicious. Everything is home made, fresh, scrumptious and every morning is different.|The pousada is not set on the beachfront but we found this was better and what made it special as it surrounded by the most stunning gardens and tropical plants. Full of hummingbirds and other species too. |The beach is very near, about 5 minutes to stunning Praia da Barra. It was virtually deserted when we were there as it was low, rainy season. Velha Boipeba is only about 10/15 minutes walk away and you walk most of it on the sand at low tide. |We stayed in a bungalow, super spacious with en-suite and a great terrace overlooking the gardens, with the lovely addition of a hammock and some outdoor furniture.|Overall we definitely recommend this pousada and Boipeba in general. Premesso che stiamo parlando di un'isola meravigliosa, ricca di natura, poco antropizzata, con una temperatura dell'acqua sempre alta...un'isola dove bere succhi di frutta a volontà... dove ordinare il pranzo, andarsi a fare il bagno ed essere richiamati quando il pranzo è pronto. Dove potersi mangiare aragoste a volontà come se fosse la cosa più normale del mondo (...anche se le aragoste mediteranee sono più buone...) . Dove l'alta e bassa marea creano dei paesaggi diversi a seconda dell'orario in cui si guarda la spiaggia: in alcuni momenti ci si trova di fronte a piccole isole sabbiose ricche di mangrovie, e poche ore dopo le isole non ci sono più e le mangrovie sono in mezzo al mare.||Premesso tutto questo, la Pousada di Massimo è qualcosa di un livello esagerato. |Ci si trova in mezzo alla natura più selvaggia con piccoli appartamenti (con zanzariere alle finestre ed intorno al letto) veramente deliziosi. C'è tutto, ed è tutto di qualità. Dagli asciugamani ai fiori che decoravano il letto (molto comodo) quando siamo arrivati. Il personale è squisitamente gentile e disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza. Quasi zen, direi.|Anche perchè bisogna sottolineare una cosa. I Brasiliani di Boipeba sono persone splendide, ma tendono un po ad essere leggermente pigri, e questo a volte crea qualche problemino. Non sono molto affidabili, diciamo. Potrebbero darti appuntamento per un'escursione e non presentarsi o farlo in ritardo. |Il personale italiano, invece, è assolutamente affidabile preciso e puntuale: anche perchè Massimo e Beatrice anche come italiani sono particolarmente attenti.||Dulcis in fundo: colazione spettacolare. Buona, ricca di frutta, di dolci e di prelibatezze che cambiano ogni giorno preparate da una cuoca veramente in gamba.||Pranzo: questa pousada ha un ristorante. Vegetariano. Il fatto che fosse vegetariano ha smorzato la mia felicità quando ho visto il ristorante. Però ci sono un paio di considerazioni da fare: 1) in brasile ci sono delle materie prime fenomenali. Penso che sia uno dei posti con più sole ed acqua del mondo e questo rende la terra ricca di vita e di frutta squisita. Il pesce, poi, non è di certo un problema. Però alla fine si trovano sempre gli stessi piatti e non c'è la creatività nel lavorare gli ingredienti per fare sempre qualcosa di nuovo. Quel tipo di creatività che invece noi italiani sappiamo sfruttare. E infatti la cucina di Massimo e Beatrice, nonostante sia vegetariana, è veramente sopraffina. Squisita.
