Pousada Santa Clara — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Valença

It’s hard to find enough superlatives to describe my stay at Santa Clara with a friend in August 2018, so let me just mention a few things.||||The grounds are beautiful, filled with lush foliage, winding paths, and accompanied by the music of birds. The chalets are scattered about, giving each guest a sense of privacy. There are beautiful artistic touches everywhere: small whimsical sculptures stationed at the bases of trees or hung like ornaments from the branches, colorful mosaics along the paths and at the entry, and a lovely open-aired dining area with a high conical ceiling.||||Speaking of dining rooms, you will be hard-pressed to find better food in all of Brazil. Breakfast is served in the dining area, and the waitress brings each table a tray with coffee, fresh fruit, cheese, fresh bread and other bakes goodies, delicious homemade jams, egg dishes (could be an omelette or a quiche - or you can order your eggs as you like them), and, of course, fresh fruit juice, which is rotated every day. The three-course dinner at R$75 is not to be missed. Chef Mark is a total pro in the kitchen and delighted us with varied moquecas, one of the most delicious octopus dishes I’ve ever had, and meat and vegetarian dishes (though we stuck to seafood only during our stay). The desserts are highlighted by homemade artisanal ice creams, tarts of tropical fruits, warm brownies with ice cream and more.||||Then there’s the staff, headed by owner Charles. They were exemplary in every way - helpful (arranging all our transport to the tricky-to-reach-but-totally-worth-it Boipeba plus some beautiful excursions on the island), friendly, multi-lingual, and rightly proud of this special place. The service staff were always courteous and friendly and keep the grounds and chalets in perfect condition.||||This was my first visit to Boipeba, and certainly won’t by my last. Charles is an excellent host, the tip of the iceberg of a fantastic team that makes you think that when you are in Santa Clara you are staying at some friend’s home. And you make new friends there, because Charles introduces you to those whose instinct tells it will work. And it works. The place is located very close to the beach, but at a prudent distance so that the bars on the coast do not disturb the rest. Everything is green and flowers and art in Santa Clara. Everything is set with good taste. The cleanliness, the attention and the quality of service are impeccable. The location is perfect both for heading to the small town of Velha Boipeba and live a bit the local atmosphere or to make the way to the fantastic beaches (Barra, Tassimirim Cueira, Morere) and enjoy the exuberant nature. The Santa Clara restaurant is the best on the island, and the price / quality ratio is second to none. Every morning breakfast is another experience: fruits, juices, cakes, bread, butter, jam and a very rich coffee.||||We had a very serious problem because of an airline strike. The two cancellations delayed our arrival 6 nights. Charles not only did not want to charge those nights but he reassured me, kept the reservation, did everything to facilitate our arrival fastest and hosted us in a magnificent way. And all this during the high season of Reveillon. I have been working in the tourism industry for 20 years and I know perfectly well that such gestures are the exception and not the rule. I returned very comforted, and I hope to be able to come back and enjoy all...

POSADA :||Llegar a la Ilha de Boipeba es pisar el paraiso... hospedarse en Pousada Santa Clara es alojarse en él, a solo 50 mts de la playa y a pocas cuadras del "centro". Desde el primer momento que dejas los bolsos en la habitacion y hablas con Charly te das cuenta que tenes que empezar a ahorrar para volver y esa ves si... mas dias!!!! ||La amabilidad de Charly y de todo el personal es sobresaliente, las comodidades de las habitaciones rodeadas de vegetacion tambien lo son. ||El desayuno es exquisito, no te cansas de disfrutarlo ya que todos los dias cambia y te sorprenden con cosas nuevas, unas mas ricas que las otras. ||||ISLA:||||Paz, tranquilidad y paisajes inmejorables de playas y morros a pura vegetacion. Nadie necesita taxi ni autos... o sea, vos tampoco. Solo basta con un buen par de ojotas para recorrer los kilometros de playas cercadas de palmeras autoctonas las cuales completan un hermoso paisaje VIRGEN. Si queres muchos comercios con variadas tiendas y restaurantes mejor elegi otro destino... pero si te gusta disfrutar a pleno de la naturaleza , desenchufarte verdaderamente por completo sin tener gastos adicionales.... no lo dudes , tu destino es este!!!! ||El color del mar verde azulado, la temperatura del agua QUENTE QUENTE increible pero real... horas podes pasar disfrutando de las olas y de playas totalmente paradisiacas, donde la mano del hombre no llego aun...por suerte!!! Bohipeba tienen todas esas caracteristicas y los habitantes del lugar quieren que asi sea... encontraron la tranquilidad y asi quieren vivir. Vas a atravesar rios para ir de playa en playa y te va a encantar... vas a caminar por horas y te va a encantar... ||DATO IMPORTANTISIMO, casi todos de los pocos comercios que hay y restaurantes aceptan TARJETA .|| ||TRASLADO:||||Dicen que el sacrificio vale la pena.... y este es precisamente el caso. Fuimos 2 veces a Bohipeba, en la 2da hicimos la mejor y mas relajante opcion para llegar a la Isla sin que nos resulte tan cansador... vas a necesitar dos dias para llegar a la Isla (1 de aereo y otro para una vez estando en Salvador llegar a Bella Bohipeba)||||Una vez que llegas a Salvador tenes dos opciones de ir a Bohipeba. 1ra Desde el Aeropuerto te subis a una avioneta que te lleva directo a la Isla por 450 Reales por persona (atento aca, pq ese valor es si estan todos los lugares ocupados, sino...vas a tener que pagar por los asientos vacios que quedan... o sea... te va a salir Carisimo) La 2da opcion, un poco mas complicada pero mucho mas economica es tomarte un taxi o micro de linea en el Aeropuerto hasta el Mercado Central (aca tenes 40min de taxi o 1:30 hs de micro que es tb muy seguro por mas que te digan que no ), justo ahi donde estan los catamaranes se encuentran la agencia de viajes que te hace el paquete de ferry, camioneta y lancha para llegar hasta el Morro de Sao Pablo, te recomendamos que lo compres, el valor es de 200 Reales y te despreocupas, ya que ellos tienen todo organizado. ||Vas a llegar por la tarde si o si al Morro ya que los horarios de los ferrys y demas son SOLAMENTE hasta las 15Hs, por lo que te aconsejamos es que hayas reservado por un dia o dos una posada en el Morro, ya que las lanchas a Bohipeba salen solamente por la mañana en una excursion que te sale aprox 80 Reales ( salvo que alquiles una lancha privada y vayas de tarde noche a Bohipeba que te cuesta $700 Reales).||El regreso a Salvador podes hacerlo MAS DIRECTO, las lanchas salen hora tras hora hasta Valenza por $120 Reales , ahi te tomas un micro de media distancia en la terminal que esta a pocas cuadras del puerto que te lleva hasta el ferry que abordas para cruzar a Salvador, calculale a todo esto unas...
