The room smelled musty, the blackout curtains were stained and had holes in them, allowing light to seep through. Additionally, a lot of light came in from the edges since the curtains didn’t properly cover the window.
There were no power outlets next to the bedside tables, which is ridiculous in this day and age. We had to leave our phones on a desk that had two power outlets near the window, far from the bed. This was extremely inconvenient because, after a long day of using data roaming, taking photos, etc., our phones were nearly dead, and we couldn’t use them while charging in bed.
There was a step up to enter the bathroom, which we occasionally tripped over, especially at night. It was also easy to trip when leaving the bathroom because the drop was unexpected.
Breakfast was below average. Thankfully, we didn’t pay for the entire week's breakfast upfront. The eggs weren’t your typical eggs... they were "Mexican eggs," which had a different taste that we didn’t like at all. The coffee was watery, which was disappointing because we had always had great coffee at other hotels in Brazil. The baked goods were also below average.
The restaurant food was just okay, no major complaints, but it could have been much tastier and better, especially considering the restaurant is shared by both Ibis and Mercure.
Overall, the hotel is very well located, but everything else leaves much to be desired. So far, this Ibis hotel is the worst ACCOR hotel we’ve stayed at.
OH, both our keycards would stop working every day. So every single effing day, we had to get them set up again...

Read moreBoa tarde.
