Situated almost opposite the Helios Beach hotel with easy access to the beach and town centre. We stayed in the top apartment - which is also on the top floor so about 3 flights of stairs. You enter the main room via the clothes storage room/area - which is a decent size with plenty of hangers, drawers and shelves. The main living room is massive and has two balconies - one facing the sea and the other facing sideways to the sea. There are two single beds in this room along with kitchen and modern shower/toilet room. At the end of the room is a short set of stairs to the main double bedroom. There are about 8 separate accommodations available ranging from studios to the one we stayed in. The hotel is designed by the proprietress Dimka - she is an architect by profession. Mikhail her partner is an ex shipping captain, speaks good English and is born and bred in Obzor - so can give you all sorts of insights into the area. Although the establishment is called a hotel its more in line with a guest house but try and persuade Dimka to let you sample her home made Yoghurt, Cheese, Fresh home produced honey (from their own bees). There is a very nice terrace area on the ground floor where you can sit in the shade away from the days heat. Prices have risen since Bulgaria joined the EU but you can still get a very good large beer in town centre or beach for about £1.40. A good meal with steak in a nice restaurant will be about £10 - local produce between £2 to £6. Room prices vary by season and size from about 15 to 60 euros per night. There is a nice little park along the road and on the other side of the park there is a street with loads of little kiosks, bars and restaurants. The main town square is less than 10 mins walk from the hotel and its a nice place to people watch. If you travel north along the main road to Varna look for the signs to Port Bayala. Its where all the local fishing boats moor and there is a great seafood restaurant and lovely small beach. While sitting in the restaurant we saw several dolphins playing not too far from the harbour wall - definitely...
Read moreWe last stayed here a few years back. Still excellent quality apartments and very good value. Location is ideal for access to anywhere in Obzor. Its so nice to stay at a hotel where the owners live and care about their customers. There are now dozens of new hotels in Obzor but many - specially the big ones are like tourist/sausage machines just processing people for their one or two week stay. How much better is it to have the owners caring about you as a person and ensuring everything is OK. We had an apartment on the first floor with two balconies. Very comfortable rooms and modern bathroom. There is air condition but the evenings in June are quite cool so we...
Read moreWe are staying in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor. Everything looks new, Comfy chairs and beds. 2 balconies, smart bathroom, TV, microwave , fridge. Plenty of storage space. We have been coming here for quite a few years and each time it gets even better. Why stay in a mega all inclusive when there are places like this that are genuinely family owned and run. Loads of local bars and restaurants and the sea is 2 minutes walk. Dimka and Mikhail really work to make sure that everything...
