My experience at the hotel was opposite to the majority of visitors. The road to the hotel is a dirt road. The lady owner looked angry the whole time we were there. I felt as an intruder in her own home. The door to our room was difficult to open. When locked from the inside with the knob, it was impossible to unlock. It took reception 15 minutes to answer my call for help. When the lady owner arrived outside the door, she announced that the door was locked!!!!! I demonstrated from inside that the lock knob rotated freely without unlocking. When she unlocked from outside (after going back to the reception to retrieve the spare key, even though I told her on the phone, that it was impossible to unlock the door), she explained to me that there was no way that the lock was not working, as the previous guests had no problem opening the door!!!! I don’t remember meeting such an unpleasant and rude with customers owner of a hotel ever before. The breakfast the next morning, for which we paid premium as it was advertised as such, was unsuitable for human consumption. The pancakes tasted as rubber (perhaps they were prepared the night before and reheated), the small piece of ham was something even my dog would not touch even if he hasn’t been eating for 3 days; there was a small piece of very process cheese, cut in 3 stripes, perhaps to fill in the plate. The “butter” was a very poor quality margarine, the jam was actually flavoured jelly, the honey was something that didn’t come from bees. We were served one apricot each. Overall this was a poor imitation of a continental breakfast. The only positives were that the male owner helped me with my heavy suitcase up to my room (on the first floor) and there was plenty of hot water. Overall, the real value of the offer was about 45 leva, including “breakfast” - I recommend you don’t eat this as you will probably get cancer with all the fake ingredients. I do NOT recommend this hotel! Overpriced and bad location. Find a different place to stay, in a different area and if possible, don’t...
Read moreFirst, a few things about Ravda. It is a small village on Bulgarian coast, next to Nesebar. It is ideal for family vacations, but also for couples. About the hotel, rooms are very clean and comfortable, towels are changed every two days, cleaning lady makes bed every day, and vacuums the room. Hotel is small, but it is very unique and charming in it's own way. We find out, that owners wife is an architect, and hotel appearance is her idea. Breakfast in hotel is also nice. Continental but not the same every day, one day we had a Bulgarian traditional pastry with cheese, other day something else, fresh fruit is served every morning. Restaurant is serving very cheap fish meals. Pool is really small but it has nice shape, but water is very cold, we tried to used it once or twice, and we gave up. Beach is not so close, it takes about 15-20 minutes walk. We had a great holiday at this 3 star hotel, and we can't wait...
