ХОТЕЛ АСТРА — Hotel in Sandanski

...that in this hotel there are often school groups on vacations. In Bulgaria during holidays, teachers often take the whole class out of the city and spend a few days in the countryside. That is exactly what happened to us during our stay there. We have just went to bed, when the whole group of students (aged around 10-11) returned back after their night out (it was around 11 in the evening) and started running around the hotel, kicking doors, yelling, etc... I tried to speak with the teacher - the result lasted for 10 minutes. After that I went to the reception, when they explained to me that there are no other rooms in the hotel, and the school group is too big and there is no alternative for me. "Don't worry", they said, "We are not able to fall asleep, either!". Yes, but after all, I was paying, not they!!! I was really angry, we could not sleep and tried to speak to the manager. Of course, the manager did not appear. So we left the hotel in the morning, really disappointed. If you plan visit to this hotel BE SURE TO ASK whether there will be school groups during the period of your stay BEFORE booking!!!||Leaving this aside - the prices for this service and without breakfast are above the market average (EUR 25/ night looks really cheap, but the other hotels offer at least some coffee in the morning for the same price). The location is ok, but if you plan to travel there with car - parking is really a headache (the hotel has parking, but it is too small). The rooms are with a nice view, but are not very clean. So - I will not recommend this hotel and will try another one during my next visit...

Хотел "Астра" може да бъде описан с две думи: НИКОГА ПОВЕЧЕ! Там няма нищо - няма нормален достъп до хотела; няма нормален човек, който да ви посрещне; няма рецепция; няма касов бон срещу парите ви; няма достъпен работещ контакт в стаята; няма нормално работещ климатик (нашия освен да бръмчи като стар трактор и да прави хлъзгави локви по терасата, друго не правеше); няма двойно легло, а две единични с избушени матраци; няма чаши; няма къде да седнеш, освен на дивана, зад който беше изправен някакъв мръсен матрак и блокираше достъпа до единствения здрав свободен контакт; няма дори табелка "Не безпокойте", защото "много се чупят"(?!?)... Всъщност имаше две неща - свободна гаражна клетка, в която да оставим колата си (които са общо две за целият хотел) и беше чистичко. Не 2, -2 звезди трябва да...

The room is spacious and clean. There is a balcony with an amazing view over all of Sandanski. All good other than the single beds. There is no double bed in any room, all are singles. The mattress is quite bumpy and...
