Unfortunately, our experience at this property was quite disappointing and far from what we expected. The staff appeared poorly trained and lacked basic hospitality skills, which affected our stay from the beginning (they don’t speak english).
When we arrived at the 3-bedroom apartment, the air conditioning was completely off, and the rooms felt like a sauna. To make matters worse, the AC in one of the rooms wasn’t working at all due to a missing or non-functional remote. We called reception immediately, but after waiting over 30 minutes with no solution, we went down ourselves — only to be told they couldn’t help.
Eventually, after our insistence, the receptionist came with a remote from another room, set the temperature to 22°C, and then attempted to take the remote back, claiming it belonged to another unit. We were honestly shocked. We explained that we needed access to adjust the temperature ourselves, as needed, and only after further back-and-forth did he finally agree to leave it with us.
Other issues included: • The advertised spa and gym were closed, without any prior notice. • Breakfast was very basic, and it was not allowed to take any food to the pool area — quite frustrating considering the setting and limited options. • We were traveling with two 1-year-old children, and the restaurant did not have high chairs, which forced us to improvise during meals, making dining uncomfortable. • Dinner had decent food quality, but the service was absolutely unacceptable. The waiter initially confirmed all menu items were available, so we ordered hummus, beef tartare, beef cheeks, and tagliatelle with Black Angus. Ten minutes later, he returned to say the tagliatelle was unavailable, so we opted for a second portion of beef cheeks. • When the food arrived, we were instead served beef tongue, with the waiter casually saying, “Sorry, this is what we have,” as if it were normal. No real apology, no heads-up, no solution offered.
Overall, it was a poorly managed experience, with clear gaps in basic service, communication, and professionalism. I would not recommend this property — especially not for families or anyone expecting a relaxing and respectful...
Read moreI found Dragalevtsi as a cheap 4 stars hotel (55 Euros per day for 2 persons with breakfast). It is situated in the Dragalevtsi suburban of Sofia, under the Vitosha mountain, in a quiet neighbourhood, with houses with gardens around. It 's a new small hotel, with a guarded open air parking lot. The neighbourhood has easy access to Sofia 's South Ring road and is 7 km away from Sofia 's center. The room was big, with a big double bed, with a balcony and view to Vitosha mountain. Everything is very clean. There was a small refridgerator which didn 't work. The bathroom is very nicely decorated with a bath cabin. The problem is that entering the bathroom you have to raise your leg to get into, otherwise you will hit it and have the danger to fall... They must put a sign for this. I can not understand why they constructed it so. Also the bathroom has the need of more hangers for things and the towels (there is anly one hanger for all towels) and they don 't give you towel for the feet. There weren 't also bath robes, as it was described. The breakfast has a lot of things to eat in a buffet, but there isn 't any cocoa powder. Also I should prefer a better variety and quality of breads than the one they serve. The reception was friendly and eager to serve you, and they speak good English; in the restaurant I asked them to turn the air-conditioning off, as there was no need for it to work and it was freezing the atmosphere and they were looking at me like a UFO and they didn 't set it off... There is a nice and well equipped gym, 2 saunas and a hamam, they deserve a use and it is at no cost. The hotel is quiet, but we had a problem on Saturday night, as they had a wedding gala in the restaurant and there was loud music playing till late at night at 2 o' clock and that was annoying, although the restaurant is in the basement and I lived at 3rd floor... All in all for the money you give it is a very good hotel, for me the area it 's OK and you get easily to the center of Sofia and if there weren 't the things I 've mentioned, I should definitely...
Read moreLet's start with the positive aspects of our experience at this hotel. Room is clean and has a lovely view. That's about it. ||||As for the negative:||1) I simply cannot find a logical explanation for the clumsy bathroom doorway design. It is really hazardous; you could easily break an arm or a leg while stumbling across it.||2) Apparently this hotel is a preferred choice for banquets, weddings or other parties. I have no issue with that. But in this case the hall for such celebrations should be completely soundproofed, or the music should stop after 12:00 AM. We really did not appreciate being unwilling listeners to loud music till 3:00 AM and not getting a decent night's sleep. ||3) Matresses are not comfortable||4) Many staff members need to be trained how to deal with unhappy customers. (I must say though, some did show some sympathy and advised us to move to another hotel when we learnd that there was an upcoming celebration the following nights. Indeed, we packed our bags and checked out). ||||This briefly summarizes our experience. Will we be back?...
