After researching the area and hotels for a short stay with friends, who live only about 5 mins we booked, and this was our first mistake. ||We arrived on a holiday which meant there was no staff available, finally, we checked in and told us our room and how to get there. Enquired about food in Sky Bar and as its no holiday its closed. No problem can go elsewhere. ( This holiday was not known by our Bulgarian Friends, so most just apply to hotels).||Arrived at the room and omg It was awful like something from the 1970s. Tried to be positive and left with friends to go for dinner. Whilst we were out we remembered that we had left our travel plug so Friends called the hotel to see if one was available bearing in mind this is a 4-star business hotel. Guess what they are locked away without access until the Manager returns at the end of January!!!! ||As we were staying 4 nights, we spoke to the manager ( Who must have cut his holiday to see us) and advised him of our concerns mainly - Dirty room, dirty sheets, no safe and no tea making facilities as we should have. He just walked off and said the room is best in the Hotel due to a balcony. (The balcony in question was tiny could only stand on it and no chairs or light to use it. ||We just felt let down and as friends booked decided to just sleep there as there is no customer service at all.||As previously stated we stayed for four nights and would not recommend at all. During our stay, the problems we encountered included:- ||1) Wrong room being given|2) Lack of Customer Service|3) Dirty Sheets ( 2 people sleeping in a single bed as so dirty)|4) Cleaner coming into the room but towels not changed - no clean towels in four day stay and no signs that the room was cleaned. ( Stain on the floor is still there four days later)|5) Having to take vaulabriets with us as not safe. ||Now, where do I start with Breakfast? The restaurant looks nice enough but once again Customer service is non-existent. The waiter just takes your room number without even looking up from his phone and then it's up to you to work things out. |Hot Food that is freezing, Apple Juice which is hot, and a cold selection that has seen better days. |During my time I did say to the waiter that there was hair in the hot food, mouldy lemons on show, and bananas that also looked off despite these issues were never addressed, and after 30 mins problem was still there. |Also no toast available. ||Would, I recommend it only if you want to stay in dirty surroundings, love freezing breakfast and eat food that's like it comes straight out of the freezer. What a pleasant adventure for business travelers who are looking for a four-star hotel, not one that is lacking in even the basic things. However, there was some saving grace the internet is good and the waiter in Skybar was trying to make good of a bad situation by providing glasses that should have already been in the room||For the money staying elsewhere there is so much better for the cost IN THIS...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel twice before and although it was pleasant, it wasn't any more than expected. ||This time was different though. I arrived 11.45pm and went straight to bed. Next night about 10pm i went to the balcony and on the curtain was a cockroach which I killed and kept to show the manager next day. The next day I left the hotel very early and returned late in the afternoon. I had a shower and then decided to take a nap.||After a while I felt something crawling on my face, yes, a cockroach. I swiped off and it landed the other side of the bed so i pictured a videoed it. When I told the receptionist she put on a puzzled face claiming she did not know what a cockroach is. I invited her to come to my room to see them, which she did. She took a look at them on the floor which I covered with glasses and one of them was still alive. Asking to speak to the manager who was off at that time, she returned to reception. Shortly after, my hotel phone rang from receptionist and told me the manager suggested I keep the balcony door and the window closed. So the receptionist said she could give another room, but, I would have to pay extra. ||Because of this I decided to leave (and go to a different hotel Metropolitan. You must read my review of it) and then had the cheek to demand payment for that night. I just laughed, at their inability to provide any type of customer service. ||||PS: I put the cockroaches in a clear plastic container and left them on the receptionist's desk. Didn't want to be charged with stealing hotel...
Read moreWe've come to Sofia, Bulgaria, to end our last night on a one-month trip that saw us visit 8 countries and 16 cities. We're a family with a child, and our arrival time was half an hour late. We informed the hotel through booking.com. We also sent a message explaining that this delay would be due to the time difference between countries. The hotel confirmed this. When we arrived at the hotel, it was 2:15 a.m. A tall, blond man came to the reception desk. He asked us why we were so late and arrived at this hour. He was angry. We gave him the answers he needed. He took our passports and threw them at the reception desk. We asked for a refund, but he refused. This is a large hotel. This incident, which we experienced in our neighboring country, was completely unpleasant. We've stayed in many countries and have never been greeted in such a manner. We condemn this behavior. We expected hospitality. We don't treat tourists visiting our country this way. If I ever find myself in Bulgaria again, I won't stay at this hotel again. I won't stay there. He was really very hurtful. Grami Hotel received a negative rating from us. I hope this message will be effective and you will ensure that your employees are more polite.
