I have been many times to this resort over the years and the place is fantastic. The bad news is that the conditions inside the hotel go worse and worse from year to year (like rooms not cleaned properly), despite that the prices go exponentially up - Family resort is strongly overpriced. The biggest problem is the food: I agree that there is plenty of food, but with very poor quality - cheese is not what you expect to be a cheese, butter is imitation of some nasty fat, dishes are tasteless, meat is hard and dull, fruits are the worse you can imagine. With my wife we tried the wine on the bar - was awful, I don't think you have to call this liquid "wine". Juices are the same - water with cheapest flavors. If you have concerns about Covid 19 protection - Family resort is a bad place and almost no measures were taken: bad organisation for food distribution (not enough people to serve the food), children are touching with bare hands the food on the counters. Each year we had stomach problems in Family resort - the hygiene in the eating area is poor. Be prepared that for vegetarians there is literally no proper food - I paid all inclusive (I can eat as much as you'd like) but I found myself going out to other restaurants (in Sozopol or Primorsko) because I was simply starving. One tip - on the beach (in direction to Ropotamo) there is a bar where you can get decent breakfast, salads, drinks and meals (it's paid of course). If you feel hungry (despite all inclusive) - you can go there.
In short - good location, overpriced hotel, nasty and low quality food (be prepared to eat outside despite that you payed all inclusive), not suitable for vegetarians, rooms not...
Read moreI am not an easy customer, but I must admit I love this place. I have been coming for 6 years now - sadly missed last year. This year I came for the wind-surfing, which was great.||The hotel is not new but is well maintained. If there is an issue Dimitry (Thank you!) would fix it very quickly. ||The room I stayed in was big enough, with a cute little balcony. It is basic, but all you need is there - the bed is comfortable, bed linen is soft, pillows are fine. Also there is an electric kettle and a small fridge in the room. Quiet AC. The hotel provides the amenities and a tea/coffee supply. Beach towels are also provided.||The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Beware the hotel is on the hill, so you might have to do some walking up and down. I did not use the pool, so I can not really comment.||Food is not exquisite, but sufficient, I was sorry they removed the healthy food corner. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. General cleanliness could be improved, but overall it is reasonable. ||This year I found that the beach got more crowded. The hotel has its bit, which is good. Unfortunately It was not clear how Tikhomire, the beach attendant decided on removing the belongings from the first row - there is a policy that you should not take a place until you are actually on the beach. Nobody follows it though, and some times my stuff was moved while other people's not.||Staff speaks passable English.||A note the non-smokers: the Bulgarian do smoke, almost everywhere, so if it is an issue for you, pls, be aware.||My stay was excellent and I want really say thank you to wonderful and always very efficient Megi - the hotel manager. I am sooo...
