We didn't know what to expect from the Bona Vita. I would say it is more suited to the local market than to European visitors unless you are used to Bulgaria which we are.||It is all very grand in an outdated way but kind of cute. The bedrooms are great with balconies although the door didn't lock but I just settled my head and didn't worry because I carried my valuables with me. The shower was variable between roasting hot and lukewarm but I always managed. The skirting boards are in true Bulgarian style - carpet tacked interestingly. We saw this in Pamporovo in a 5 star hotel and were amazed at this method of finishing the flooring. This along with the bumpy flooring makes it look 'interesting' when a good skirting board or tiling would finish it off. I think some Europeans would find this odd but we like the quirkiness of it.||The pool area although dated was extremely pleasant. We had a visit to the beach on the scary ski lift and we both injured ourselves so I wouldn't advise it for those who aren't used to ski lifts or are not very agile. It was also quite high with very huge drops on to cement so I had a few moments where I didn't really like it. Adrenaline junkies would love it - hubby did until he ripped his leg jumping off.||The beach is really pretty and worth a visit where you can play games with the staff like volleyball and bowls. If you are all inclusive you will get free drinks at the beach bar.||The food at the hotel is buffet style and although it's not 5 star you should be able to get enough to keep you going. To be honest I don't know how the hotel affords to do all inclusive at the price they charge but we were very happy and thankful to find that we were all inclusive.||There is a very happy chappy who runs the events in the bar at night. He is young, fun and is great at making you feel included. Amazingly we won the quiz which had questions we thought we couldn't answer as a couple were Bulgarian questions. It was a lot of fun.||The girls on reception were so cute and sweet and really did try to speak English as our Bulgarian is very poor.||We didn't get a chance to try the spa but had a look at it and it seemed fine.||I found the dining staff a bit off putting though as I thought they could have made more of an effort to make the dining experience more pleasant by chatting and smiling. I'm not sure if that is the norm but we have found staff in restaurants to be very friendly.||The chamber maids were outstanding - pleasant even though they didn't speak our language we were able to communicate. They left the rooms spotless every day.||The security guards are very attentive to whoever parks there. They come out immediately when you drive in and ensure you are parked in the spill over car park which is just across the lane. Very handy. You can be sure your car will be safe with these guys about.||The only thing I would say to people before you go is that you need to check your mobility. This area is not good for walking. It is not easy to get to the seafront and it is a bit of a journey to Varna and Golden Sands. We have our own car there and get taxis when we want to drink so you need to factor this in. You are not getting a sea front property close to restaurants and shops so bear this in mind. If you are looking for a cheap stay, eating in house, lay by the pool holiday, then you've got it. Otherwise you'll need to make an effort with taxis, walking and buses. The bus goes from the main road every ten minutes or so at a couple of lev so easy and cheap but you'll need to walk a good distance to the bus stop.||If you do go out you will find it so cheap. A full on three course meal with sushi, wine and cocktails for 3 people at the Happy Bar in Varna which is one of the upmarket restaurants in the area will cost you about 110 lev or just over £50.||Thanks to the Bona Vita for making our...
Read moreThe photographs on the web make this seem a very good hotel. HOWEVER. It's not all inclusive unless weak local beer until eight at night counts as all inclusive. Spirits are available at the pool bar until seven but once the daily allowance runs out there is no more, gin would run out early in the afternoon. If you're English then there would probably be nothing for you to eat. I live in Bulgaria so do eat Bulgarian food but in this hotel it's a feeding frenzy with guests grabbing as much as they can and then leaving half. They advertise a sauna and indoor pool. They are only available when the weather is bad so in effect are unavailable. We are in our sixties and they put us on the fifth floor and there is no lift, complaining was useless. The bed was big and comfortable but the room was tiny and didn't have air conditioning , unless you wanted to pay an extra twenty euro a night. Around the pool the music was loud and it was whatever the barmaid had on her phone and great for teenagers I think, certainly not nice for the vast majority of guests. This is a very old and delapordated hotel. The only good thing was a free chairlift to the beach but even though they had a private beach you could only get one drink at a time and this could only be local weak beer or juice. All in all a lesson learned and never would I return. I'm more annoyed at Booking . Com for not checking that what the hotel promised was what was on offer and I feel really sorry for the manager who must have to deal with these problems daily. The location is very difficult for a sat nav to find, we spent over an hour going up and down very pot holed streets before asking the sat nav to find a nearby hotel. I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreHU and EN HU: 2019, június 30.-tól, július 5.-ig nyaraltunk (6 felnőtt-egy család) Bulgáriában, Aranyhomokon, a Bona Vita hotelben. Pozitívumok: tiszta víz a belső medencében, tiszta tengerpart.
EN: 2019, June 30th, July 5th, July 5th (6 adults) in Bulgaria, Golden Sands, at Bona Vita Hotel. My first point in my review is that all the pictures on the rooms on Bookingon or on their own website are misleading, as the hotel is built on the right side of the well-appointed rooms filled with all the pages on the left, the rooms that are completely different (in the wrong sense). The rooms are small and have baths that do not have a simple shower cabin, and the floor is completely straight (not sloping at all), so the water flows straight into the room, on the carpet, as many times as the shower is, and in many places the floor is normal. not just a cement foundation. The next scoring point is food, which is many, but tasteless, unclean, unclean and not varied, as many say. The hotel is difficult to reach by itself and its surroundings are full of garbage and impassable bushy paths to the beach. There is a positive aspect of the beach approach: there is a cable car that runs from 9 am to 6 pm and takes you to the beach and brings it up. For Wi-Fi, air conditioning and parking we had to pay, but the wifi was not working. The rooms have small refrigerators, but they do not work, just in very rare cases and while using the toilet, all the water flows into the bathroom, and of course in the room as well. The programs organized at the hotel are weak and few, because the responsable poeple don't care about it. Positives: clear water in the indoor pool, clean beach. After all, I would also like to mention that we have not traveled with a team that is very demanding, but everything for 2400 leva (about 1300 euros), simply unqualified. I'm very sorry for not...
