Just arrived back from this hotel after having a rough year and wanting a break.||I'll start with the food. The food was awful! I went with my son & two friends. We was all inclusive. We ate out every night. The food was burnt! Ran out & didn't replace. Didn't label what they did have. Nothing was edible. I refused to even take my son in. |DONT HAVE ALL INCLUSIVE. They had chips one day I thought fantastic something edible for my son, when having to queue all the chips had gone I asked if there was more the lady shook her head threw her hands in the hair! And sighed and said no! Very rudely! The drinks are the cheapest of cheap.| The staff don't want to help. Very rude & unhelpful. You ask them a question and they are so rude don't smile & unhelpful. We complained due to paying all inclusive and the whole staff found out and treat us horrendous.||The room:- air conditioning leaked all over. Took them two days to mend it. My 1 year old slipped on the water it was that bad! The front door didn't even shut you had to lock it. The shower head was broken when trying to shower it went all over bathroom. The sink had the plug in and wouldn't come out! So just over flowed.||Can't fault the cleanliness of the rooms and cleaners they was great only downfall is they don't replace towels. We never had them we had to use our beach towels.||It's not child friendly hotel at all. They don't have entertainment for the children. The pool is very very cold!! And far too deep for the children. We went to the beach daily.|The lifeguard is too busy sunning on a sunbed and doesn't even monitor. The staffs English is terrible. ||They have a lift which is great but it doesn't have a sensor so it just shuts on you as when you get in and out of the lift. Really unsafe.||I'm currently gutted as the hotel is nothing like on the pictures. Currently trying to complain to the travel agent as we spent so much money. Due to not being able to spend time in the hotel. We went to the beach a bus ride away. Lovely beach! But nothing round the hotel. It's all dark at night no street lights.||Highly recommend the pizza place at the bottom of the road & the English bar hurry Ramsey's at golden sands. We ate out all the time.||Do not stay here! It was the hotel from hell. We cried most days in the hotel. We spent all the time out of the hotel or in the room. The staff are so rude! No one smiles or are welcoming. So glad to be home. ||Hopefully this review will make others think before booking! Golden sands is lovely! But varna and hotel silver... stay away is my...
Read moreWe stayed in Hotel Silver for 10 days, All Inclusive, between 6-16/09/17. Hotel Silver is conveniently located 30 min drive from Varna airport. On arrival we were given some pre-made sandwiches, as the restaurant was closed, which was nice. The receptionist on duty was unpleasant, he asked for our passport, which he wanted to keep. We asked him to use them for registration there and then and to returned them back to us. He was not happy and he made that pretty obvious. Very uncomfortable situation. We sat down and waited for him to finish and waited and waited...We were hungry and exhausted, it was late at night. When I asked how long it will take for him to finish he said he had finished long time ago...Very strange start. We finally went to our room, which was located on the top, 5th floor. It had the most stunning sea views, balcony, comfortable beds, good size bathroom, brilliant air con. Housekeepers were brilliant, they were nice and helpful. Now onto the restaurant....oh well, food was not great, unless you like to eat fatty food or bread or fruit with mould. Everything was fried, whatever was for breakfast, was later served for lunch and then for supper (with slight alterations). Having meals at the hotel was never a nice experience. Kitchen staff was ever so nice and I don't blame them, I think it's the management, that should start reading reviews and learn from our feedback. The outside bar was nice, but the music they played was far too laud and not to anyone taste, except staff. Unless you like Bulgarian hip hop :) The hotel is 10 minute walk to the nearest beach (Kabacum beach) and 25 minutes walk to Golden Sands. The beach was ok, far less busy than famous Golden Sands. However what I found difficult to accept was that everyone was smoking everywhere...the beach was one massive ash tray...Generally, people that we met were not friendly, except lovely lady that works as a receptionist in the hotel, and lovely young man from restaurant (Hristopher, I think), very hard working people, very helpful and so different from the rest ! But if you do decide to go to Hotel Silver, do not go All Inclusive, food in outside restaurants is cheap and much nicer and if you do change your mind, you can always upgrade to All Inclusive for extra 14 Lew. On our last day, we had to pay 30 Lewa extra to stay in our room till evening, due to our late flight, but that did not include dinner, snacks and drinks. Overall, thanks to the most amazing weather, we had a good holiday, but we would not go back to Hotel Silver, nor...
Read moreI've tried to keep a positive mindset with this hotel from the day we arrived. First when we arrived at the reception for the check-in a room with two single beds was given for a family of four, that was sorted after all, second the food is cheap and I am not sure if anyone check for safety, me and one of my son got sick for two days. third they say free parking when all they have is a parking for maximum 20 cars for a hotel with a capacity of more then 50 rooms. the car park is stuffed with cars during the night and is a nightmare to exit in the morning because the reception don't bothers to get the registration and phone no. the last thing about the car park is that my car was hit by a delivery driver who left without doing anything. tried to talk with receptionist and manager they where clueless and the lack of response was annoying. when i called the police and asked the receptionist to translate for me, most probably the owner arrived and they were talking between them without translating anything, police didn't asked a single question from us and all we got from the supposedly translator was that they want to give as a fine because we parked illegally. so yeah we parked illegally on a private property 🙄 which the receptionist said we can park anywhere there. the owner which talked with the police, from what I understood on the body language tried to convince the police that we are trying extortion. anyway i don't recommend this hotel. with the extra costs that I've got we could stay in a nicer hotel (not an ex communist one, after more then 30 years on doing something about it), with more peace of mind which is essential...
