Holiday at Gradina Hotel - Golden Sands... There would be a lot to say about this hotel and, above all, its staff, because in the end we were interacting with people, not with the hotel...; unfortunately, more negatives than positives... First of all, I will mention a matter that affected me the most and which I consider inadmissible - the hotel does not take into account the reservations made in advance when organizing the accommodation and makes overbooking, offering superior rooms, the 4* ones, to some tourists who book now, at the expense of tourists who booked more time ago. For example: we were a group of 3 couples with children, and we contracted three 4* Family rooms through our travel agency. On the day of arrival, a couple arrived about 2 hours earlier than the other two and got an ok 4* room, although I'm not sure even now if it was Family or just standard double with extra bed, but it was a good room, on the 2nd floor; later, the others received 2 rooms on the 8th floor, which they consider to be 3, but they can maximum be classified as 2 in 2023 - old furniture, in the bathroom the shower is simply in the wall, without even a the curtain, a very unpleasant smell, a kind of room deodorant that I think had the role of masking the smell of mold - there was moisture in the room, it can be seen the traces in the wardrobe, on the back plywood. I notified the travel agency, which contacted the hotel...they were told by the hotel that, ATTENTION, we accepted those rooms! As if someone asked us something in this regard and we are so stupid that we reserved 4* Family rooms from February and when we go on vacation in August, we accept anything... Following the intervention of the agency, the rooms were changed the next day with what I actually contracted, but the bitter taste remained, and the discomfort created as well - go up with luggage to the 8th floor (of which there is an elevator only from the 4th floor), take the luggage down the next day at 4th floor. Very ugly this gesture; I rarely write reviews about the places I've been, but in this case this gesture led me to write a detailed review, I don't think it's right to be treated this way. We will definitely never come here again, and we will tell everyone we know, as well as on the travel forums, about this situation. Other aspects: food not very good and often insufficient; we always stood in line, especially for fried potatoes, where the empty tray/trays were rarely filled in time...; there have been good meals from time to time, but still insufficient for an all-inclusive service; the juices from the Coca-Cola dispenser were good; absolutely horrible coffee, I don't know who can drink something like that; very weak desserts... fruits cut into 2-3 pieces - why? To make it look more? Bad idea, the fruits oxidize if they are cut! the staff in general weak, with few exceptions... a boy and a girl at the reception quite kind; on the other hand, a young lady from the bar on the terrace was often very irritated, this job is not for her. parking at the hotel against the cost of 15 BGN per day, for 7 days I paid approximately 55 EUR. very small pool, rather a pit with water, in no case a pool for a hotel with 2-300 tourists staying. the private beach of the hotel was about 7-10 minutes away on foot, through the space of another hotel, Riviera; we received a plastic card in the morning for the umbrella and 2 sunbeds, but there was no organization at the beach, the number on the card was not respected - very few umbrellas still had that number stuck on them. As a conclusion, poor organization, poor quality services; It's strange what happened this year with this hotel, we chose it based on the reviews of previous years, which were good - it seemed like one of the best hotels in Golden Sands, but we were disappointed... It would be better to grow prices and maintain a better level of services,...
Read more[ ] Avoid this hotel at all costs. You can find better hotels next to this one that have less stars but better treatment. This review is absolutely honest and I didn’t believe I’ll find so many bad things in a hotel in my life. Ignore the fake reviews that they post [ ] No elevator at the ground floor. You have to walk 4 floors to get to the elevator. [ ] No parking, they make u pay for a parking that’s not next to the hotel [ ] Dirty bathroom with already unsealed toilet paper and the toilet seat not cleaned [ ] Bathroom door was falling and was improvised with thin cardboard. Yes, literally cardboard [ ] Mould under the bed and dirt [ ] We booked 3 double rooms and we received totally different rooms. One double and dirty, one for handicapped persons which was totally a different size, and one at the last floor even if we mentioned that we have a problem climbing so many stairs. [ ] Most rooms don’t have privacy. The balconies are not really separated so anyone can walk up to your window. [ ] The rooms look awful and pictures from booking are fake [ ] The google maps & waze location is not real, it’s 1-2 km away from the actual location. It’s just a trick to make it look closer. [ ] The pool can’t fit more than 20 people so u won’t even get to use it [ ] Beach is far away and it’s not really their private beach. Many hotels have access to that “beach”. [ ] Dirty closet with thick layer of dust [ ] We found mould and dust under the bed mattress [ ] Drinks were awful, the free ones. The normal ones cost money. So not really all inclusive if they give u 2$ whiskey bottle for example. Felt sick as hell because of those [ ] Food was terrible at the breakfast. Only very very very cheap food and awfully cooked [ ] My room was exactly next to the reception and I could hear people talking all the time [ ] My friend received a room dedicated to handicapped people ( big sign on the door ) [ ] They never clean the room or change the towels [ ] They took our id’s in the first day and refused to give them back till the last day [ ] Seats on the “private” beach are limited and if you don’t go early, they don’t let you go there [ ] The route from the hotel to the “private” beach is longer than you see on the map. Aprox 20 minutes of walking. [ ] The “private” beach has “ prohibited swimming, non-safety zone “ sign. They don’t have employees there and no drinks, no water, nothing. And the shops where you can buy some ar 15 minutes away. [ ] No heated pools [ ] They only have 1 pool, not 2 like they say [ ] In all the rooms, the matress and the blankets are always wet , they don’t dry it [ ] Did I say the food is...
Read moreWelcome to “the horror hotel”! Only thing that was good and safe to eat tomato salad and baked potatoes. This is horror hotel, I have never seen anything like this before. Got a room at 9th floor( very hot that you need to turn on always the AC)-clearly was never cleaned and I came home with flue as a bonus. Bugs where present in the bathroom every night ( I will post video on google and everywhere so you can see exactly) Although I mentioned the problem to the receptionist the guy said that they are fixing it( not sure how or what they did because no one entered in the room) this was just a lie, then he gave me the room next to ours! Really? Isn’t there bugs too? I left it like that because they were having problems with overbooking ( I heard 2 people having this issue and they were transferred to a even lower hotel for 2 days) Bathroom is a joke, room is very small, fridge was almost not working at all( plus it was dirty inside) No protection at the door if the balcony ( one night we had bees entering in our room) The bed was a disaster ( while trying to fix the bedsheets I noticed hair and dirty underneath the sheet. Disgusting! Food? Oh this is absolutely terrible. I had 2 times some meat and ended up taking pills for two days, the rest of the days I only eat salad, tomatoes, cheese and baked potatoes, olives( those were my safe option) Same breakfast every day. One of our friend ended up with eczema and sores. The food was given 2-3 times ( there is nothing diverse) they gave you margarine instead of butter and fir coffee you get powdered milk instead of normal milk. Pizza was horrible too, they were using bad bacon on it( rotten) the one that stayed too much on the table each mornings. You had only two types of sweets, only profiteroles were good. Bacon was rotten and had sour taste. Instead of butter you receive margarine! Omelette was looking bad, not well done. Fruits were ok, but they cut in two-3 pieces and bananas and pears were going bad fast. Also the fruits were badly washed, or not washed at all. Many plates were not cleaned well as I found many times pieces of food on them although they should have been clean! Fries where ok first day, then 2 days later I believe we received same fries but re-heated again in oil and they looked very awful. However who went at least couple of times in Bulgaria knows that this is not a 4 star hotel ( this is maximum 2). If you want to come slim fit after vacation, with eczema and food poisoning, then yes, you can choose this hotel. If you still don’t know if you should go to this hotel, then you should check photos and...
