DON'T COME TO PRESLAV --- JULY 2018||firstly the hotel is not 25 minutes away from varna airport, its a good 55 minutes (private transfer) In all fairness the hotel was clean-ish and well looked after. Unfortunately only one staff members spoke English and he was the gardener, the rest did not speak or understand english. We checked in early at no extra cost, when we got our keys we soon found out there was no lift or bell boy; so expect to be carrying your luggage up stairs. It says no smoking throughout but when we opened our room door there was a strong damp smoke smell. The room was clean but very dated, the beds were uncomfortable and the pillows is what would be used on a sofa as decoration, 80s style tv with no english channels, plug sockets hanging out of the wall, the balcony is tiny and equiped with a plastic garden set, the bathroom however was really modern and spacious. For the food its mainly aimed at the locals, no English food what so ever and no variety. The bar only stays open till 9pm. The pool is filthy and only cleaned once a week, the pool bar is a self service soft drink machine. Wifi is only available in the lobby. Some things to note if you do stop here is that if you break something or something stops working in your room, they will charge you when you get back home, for instance the plastic garden chair was cracked when we got there, they charged my card £30 to replace it. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but there are so many hotels for cheaper with even better location and nicer pools, such as Odessos, we have been told by people who regularly go to bulgaria not to go all inclusive as the food isnt cattered to english people, we ate out every night and the food is very nice and cheap, freshly cooked Bolognaise, a bowl of chips and a pint of beer was never more than £6 - £7, best restaurants were Shipka Steak House, Black Angus steak house, and for a really good Proper english breakfast is Harry ramsdens on the beach front! what ever you do even if you come to this hotel do not go into Bonkers night club, we soon found out that was a waste of £35 a person.||The sun loungers on the beach were around £16 for a couple, Cigarettes were £2.50 a pack, the beach is extremely clean and well...
Read moreIt is the 3rd time in a roe I come here for my summer holidays and this is an indirect very good vote for the hotel. Firstly, I appreciate the fact that they get better and better from one year to another and that they really take into account the people s requests. I am a bit surprised by the negative reviews, probably they were done before the overall renovation of the hotel. I think we should remember that it is a 3 stars hotel and with really good prices. Nobody can ask more, everyone should be prepared for what they ask and pay. I like very much the location, simple, with a small virgin forest around, close to the beach, with an interior garden-place for relaxation an with a small, simple, but good swimming- pool. My biggest Yes is for the restaurant, with different and tasty dishes, of a good quality and with hard-working people. I am also pleased that each meal offers fish and vegetarian dishes, something I have not found somewhere else. I also like the family spirit of the employees, most of them the same as in the previous years. Of course, there are rules, a program for the bar, a certain time - 2 pm - to get the room and so on. If you respect the rules, everything is OK, nothing seems strange. The rooms are OK, most of them with AC - I stayed in 245, 2nd floor, with a forest view. I would recommend, in the future, modern LCD tv-sets and a better choice of the women who clean the rooms - this year I was unlucky, I got a superficial one who asked ... for money, to change the towels and who poorly used the vacuum cleaner. Of course, I did not give her anything. The fact is that everything can be solved at the Reception, where you can get the best treatment. So, all in all, a great stay! I will certainly come back! One more thing: the hotel is very close to the bus station, where you can take buses 409 or 9 for a trip to Varna, for only 3 leva. As for the tourists in this hotel, most of them are from Moldavia, Russia, Romania and Ukraine. I recommend Preslav for those who want to have a good time and who are open to adapt conditions and situations, to be always greatful for what...
Read moreIt is the 4th time in a row I come here and the last . I received a room which robably was a single one before, because there is not s ace for two, no bedside night lam s, a single night table. The TVset is very small, old and hanging on the ceiling, in a corner, very difficult to watch. The wardrobe has drawers you cannot use, because they hit the night table. Of course, I moved it half a meter, hardly turning the lights on afterwards and finding out nobody ever , cleaned under the wardrobe. I asked immediately to change the room, something I do not usually do, also saying I bought the holiday in November 2017, I am their guest for the 4th time and I stay for 12 days, I love Bulgaria, I have many Bulgarian friends. To my sur rise, I was very naturally refused by the manager, I think, who suggested I should try again some days later. Coming back in the room, I also found two never washed glasses, directly on the small table, mouth down on it, having no tray. Then, bad beds, a dirty towel, used by a woman before..., which brought me to tears. I went to the old rece tionist who said it was not her job, then, by chance, I met the cleaning woman, who shouted at me, very angry I went to the rece tion desk. The whole attitude in this hotel is old fashioned, as if we stay free of charge and we should not comment. Nobody said ,,I am sorry,, as they still have enough tourists, most of them from Moldavia, so no matter one Romanian minus. The restaurant is far better than the rooms, still, it is obviously worse than the last years. Less courses and not varied as before. The only advantage is given by the trees and small garden around the hotel. My conclusion is this is definitely NOT a 3* hotel, when talking about the rooms and I regret I had to destroy my mood, when I could choose another hotel nearby, which is chea er and cannot have worse rooms. It is a serious roblem nothing changes, nobody in the hotel does not care, nobody really wants to...
