Mowin Boutique Hotel & Residence — Hotel in Khan Chbar Ampov

Lovely little family run hotel away from the busy streets of the city.

Pros: Staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful with good English. The manager even went out of her way to get me a cake and rose for my girlfriends birthday to have at breakfast! Rooms are big, modern and comfy. Bathrooms are very nice. Breakfast is good. WiFi signal is very good. TV has English movie channels.

Cons: No hot water for the shower. Gets only slightly warm at best.

The BIGGEST problem here are the 5 or 6 roosters and cockerels that are right next door to the hotel rooms! They are so noisy and cry out all night long. We had to change rooms on the first night as they were right outside our window. Every morning at 4am without fail they woke us up and one night it was at 12.30am, 2am, 3.30am and then 4.30AM and that is with ear plugs in. This is not the fault of the hotel at all but still disturbs tour sleep...

Outstanding service. Above and beyond. Lovely family run little hotel outside the busy centre of Phnom Penh. My friend and I were blown away at the level of service here. They catered to every need, every request. They even booked an amazing private taxi to Kratie for us. Free airport pick up, great city tour. We requested our hotel tuk tuk driver take us around, no worries. He stayed with us the time. When he wasn't sure of one location, a short time afterwards, there appeared the owners brother to help us out. Amazing attention. We was welcomed by sandy at the airport who was so lovely and friendly. She brought us to the hotel in her car. The hotel is situated near a traditional market where the locals trade. It is lovely to be able to be part of the culture here. The main centre (by the independent monument) is a 4K walk from the hotel. You could pay a tuk tuk which is 4 US dollar.
