i have stayed in over 50 hotels in phnom penh. when i arrived at the lucky star 2 hotel, they saw me at reception. i was here with my wife and 2 children. I had a lot of luggage with me. Nobody from the hotel came up with the idea to help. i check in. the whole hotel a bit dingy. toilet paper on the lift floor that was still there the next day. the walls smeared. there was little hope for a nice room. the room was ok. However, there was an unpleasant smell to be perceived. water leaked from the toilet that soaked the bathroom floor after using the toilet. There was no hot water in the shower. it was freezing cold. everything would have been ok for me, because the price was really cheap. But it started in the night .. 1 floor above me, there was above-average loud music that had turned my room into a disco .. I tried to sleep, which was impossible. at 2 o'clock in the morning it was enough for me. i went to see where the music is coming from. At first I thought there was a nightclub next to the hotel. when i went upstairs, i quickly found the room with the loud techno music. back in my room i called the reception and told her the room number with the music. it seemed as if she already knew what it was about. the music did not stop. at 3:30 in the morning I was about to explode. I'm not talking about listening to a little music. full volume with a large music box with great bass. I went downstairs to reception .. the receptionist was sleeping. I woke her up and said that it was enough ... the gentlemen could now celebrate almost the whole night. you should now turn off the music. I couldn't sleep a second! your answer was only: you have already switched off the music. I didn't come downstairs because the music is turned off and she should now see that it happens immediately. she called the room and told the gentlemen to turn off the music and lay down again. I got up in the room. loud music can be heard as before. the music finally stopped at 5.20 in the morning. incredible night. in the morning I immediately packed my things to check out. It was immediately clear that I would not stay here with my family even though I had booked 4 nights. everything was just clear to the receptionist when she saw me coming out of the lift with luggage in the morning. she promised me that she would repay me the money for the next 3 days. no problem. 1 day later I called and asked again if the money would be transferred.? they don't send money back. it would be my problem if i leave earlier. this...
Read moreIf i could give this place a 0 rating I would. Although the staff are friendly, there are many things wrong with this hotel and I guess you get what you pay. There are ants everywhere, the sheets are never changed and toilet paper is not provided. I asked for toilet paper and they said they didn't have any. My sheets had blood on them and I asked them to change it and they said they didn't have any. I was shocked at the response and considering I am Cambodian myself, I thought they would've gone the extra mile to help me out. The maintenance in the rooms are at 0 as well. Half the lights don't work and I got locked in my room for over an hour because the door would not open and I had to call the front reception to get help. The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable so you wake up with a sore back and outside is very loud so you're lucky to get a few hours sleep a night. I highly recommend anyone staying in Phnom Penh to keep this hotel...
