Lily's Riverhouse is a fantastic example of a local Cambodian business making use of natural resources to build a community of locals and travellers who are passionate about living life unencumbered.
Although the amenities and facilities are simple, there is nothing lacking. In fact, the non-pretentiousness of the guesthouse is exactly what makes staying at this location so special. You are immersed in an environment that puts you at complete ease with yourself and your thoughts.
The hut that I was living in was comfortable. Photos of the place do not do justice to the peace and tranquility that you have when you arrive on location.
Lily's Riverhouse is about 20-30 minutes away from the main Koh Rong pier by scooter - via a pick up service that the hosts offer their guests.
Although Lily's Riverhouse is a guesthouse, it operates like a boutique co-living space. A welcome drink is served upon arrival by exceptional hosts (a husband and wife team) who are helpful, accommodating and hospitable. Guests lounge at the communal space where they participate in casual conversations, read a book on a hammock or simply while the time away watching the floral and fauna of the place. If anything, the place feels like a home away from home.
Zoë (a long staying guest at Lily's Riverhouse) and the main point of contact for the place, puts everyone at ease from the moment guests enter and is a dedicated guest/host/marketer for the guesthouse.
I highly recommend anyone visiting Koh Rong to head to Lily's Riverhouse as the first choice of...
Read moreThis property is an absolute gem, the place is excellent, the huts are lovely nestled in the mangroves you get to see fish, fire flies and all manner of other things staying out with nature. The food and drinks are very reasonably price especially on the island where things can be more expensive than on mainland and honestly the food is incredible and by far the best food we have ate in our 3 week trip around Cambodia. The location is perfect lonely beach is a 25/30 minute walk which is arguably the best on the island it’s quiet picturesque and a stunning place to see sunset. They also do kayaking from the hotel where you get to go through the fisherman’s village which was amazing. The staff at Lilys river house are the best they are lovely, kind very helpful and hard working to ensure everyone has a wonderful stay I highly recommend anyone to book this place if I could give 10...
Read moreWe had an incredible stay at Lilys River. Lily, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and speaks excellent English. Her daughter, the adorable 3-year-old Lily, was a delightful addition to our meals, charmingly wandering from table to table to share some food and playtime with guests.
The bungalows were comfortable, even with our two young children (ages 4 and 5), though it's worth noting there's no hot water. The food was absolutely phenomenal! Huge portions, delicious homemade curries and bread – a true culinary highlight. This is easily one of the best restaurants we've experienced.
The boat tour with Seyla was an unforgettable experience. He's a fantastic guide, making the snorkeling, fishing, and swimming with bioluminescent plankton truly special. Highly recommend Lilys River for travelers seeking tranquility and a...
