Shown to very big room $10 with air con and hot and cold water, etc If you squinted you could see the lake round the side of the new building outside the window, and depending on your tastes you got a good view of the builders washing themselves at the end of the day!||We did both get mossied within minutes of being in the room, but no more seen after that!||Reception was a bit haphazard, we arrived and our tuk tuk driver had to translate with the garden boy behind the desk, the 'boss' we saw briefly, but in that time she went off with our passports for 'safe keeping' overnight! The normal guy either had a very odd sense of humour, or was on drugs, or both.||The restaurant almost attached was good for breakfast, though the one dinner we ate was disappointing, Had to get the excess oil poured from the dish!||Ate at the Banlung Balcony round the other side of the lake which was very pleasant and they provided a free tuk tuk home. We had walked back from town the previous evening and it was a little dark and vaguely scary as bikes come passed as the local youth hang...

Do not listen to the few bad reviews about this hotel /guesthouse. Those people must have been having a bad day. This guesthouse is ridiculously nice, great rooms, looks gorgeous, the staff is among the most amazing people I've ever come across and of course the price, 6$ for my super nice room! With hot shower! A/c! It can't be beat price wise. this is the place to stay in Ratanakiri /Ban Lung. || Mr. Nob (staff) is an amazing jungle trekking and great tour guide, please support him. ||Reaksa Noun is also an amazingly lovely women who does many tours as well. Both her and Mr. Nob are top notch, high quality, great people to be around and it would be great to support them. ||Also, Hun Sena is the greatest tuk tuk service in town. He's smart and funny and will make your trips very much fun, usually he works with this guesthouse. ||Stay here and your adventures in Ratanakiri will be filled with...

Wir verbrachten im Lakeside Chheng Lok Hotel ca. 5 Nächte. Bei Ankunft am Abend wurden wir vom TukTuk Fahrer, der uns hinbrachte und dort arbeitete noch über eine halbe Stunde über ihre Touren aufgeklärt. Als dieser dann weiterfuhr machte der junge Mann an der Rezeption weiter, dessen Englisch nicht so leicht zu verstehen war und es war sehr mühsam! Die Tours sind viel zu überteuert also entschieden wir uns auch gleich keine zu machen. Als wir uns dann ein Motorrad ausleihen wollten, wollte uns die Frau an der Rezeption sogleich eine TukTuk Tour anbieten, wieder zu teuer. Wir wollten aber auf eigene Faust die Umgebung erkunden, was die dann auch akzeptierte. Sie ließ noch einen für mich unfreundlich empfundenen Kommentar zu meinem Alter ab, ob ich 14 wäre und sie fragte das auch nicht mich sondern meinen Freund, obwohl ich vor ihr stand. Zwei Tage später klopfte sie bereits früh morgens an unsere Zimmertür um nach dem Scooter zu fragen, den wir noch brauchten... Unsere Wäsche die wir ihnen am ersten Tag zum Waschen gaben bekamen wir am Abend vor der Abreise... Die Zimmer kann man nicht als sauber bezeichnen, es ist sehr viel Staub und überall liegt der rote Sand, die Fenster wurden wahrscheinlich auch noch nie geputzt! Als wir die Tickets für die Weiterreise machten stellte uns diese der junge Mann aus. Er fragte auch noch mehrmals nach dem Datum und schrieb es selbst auf. Lobte sogar, dass wir 2 Tage vorher buchen wegen der Plätze...Am nächsten morgen, nicht der Tag unserer Abreise, klopfte die Frau schon wieder vor 8 Uhr morgens, weil unser Van da wäre!! Es war ärgerlich es kam mir so vor als hätten sie Schwierigkeiten das Hotel zu managen. Nicht unbedingt weiterzuempfehlen wenn man nicht mehrmals früh morgens geweckt...
