Watch this video on YouTube..search bad service. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. We had a previous booking through Expedia. They didn't give us the accommodations we paid for. We are supposed to have accommodations for 6 including four children but yet the kitchenette only provided plates and forks for 4. We had to wash every single utensil the frying pans were not even clean at all. We spent our first night and had access to the pool and spa which were supposed to be newly renovated and completed. But one day and to our stay they shut the pool down for renovations so we had no access even though that's the reason we chose and had great communication with this facility prior to booking. Our first morning there we had to clear our own tables to feed the children and have breakfast. And there were a lot more grievances. Inline trying to receive our money back so we could go somewhere else that had a pool operational, other people got refunded but they wouldn't refund us blaming Expedia for the poor quality of service. Upon expressing our grievances to the guest services manager, we had the police called via 911 hang up, when there was no emergency and we were just simply complaining about our grievances. It is now being two weeks and Best Western is yet to address our very serious concerns about the worst day we've ever had in any of our lives. Thank the good Lord we were able to record this situation on video. As the manager was absolutely dishonest and isn't someone you would want representing your business ever.

The Good: the room was clean upon arrival, nice and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was great, lots of options to choose from. The staff we dealt with were all very kind and helpful (Front desk, breakfast staff, maintenance man). The Bad: we were not told that housekeeping was only available for stays of 5 night or longer. At 4 PM on our second day, we were surprised that the room hadn't been cleaned yet so we called the front desk and asked if our garbage could be emptied and for new towels. We were given towels and garbage bags and told to empty the garbage ourselves. The next day, our room again wasn't cleaned so we visited the front desk where we were advised of the no-housekeeping policy for stays less than 5 nights. We asked if just our carpet could be vacuumed, as we have a crawling baby and didn't want her crawling on an unclean carpet. The front desk staff member left the desk and returned with a vacuum, which we then had to bring to our 3rd floor room, vacuum, and return to the desk. I have never experienced this before in an otherwise nice hotel. We certainly didn't expect a deep clean, new bedding or anything of that sort, but when paying $180 per night for a 3 night stay basic services like garbage emptying and vacuuming is expected. This policy really undermines the otherwise great service we experienced.

We had a two night stay in room 206 in a king suite. The property was well maintained and the check in was quick and efficient. (We were attending a wedding and paid for early check-in then returned to our room by 1030pm.) The front desk remindered us of complimentary breakfast and there was a placard to the right of the desk with the upcoming schedule. The room was spacious, however the washroom with the door swing inwards, left much to be desired. This made it extremely chaotic with two of us attempting to use it. Might be better if a barn door slider type door was the replacement. We went down for breakfast and enjoyed a tasty and filling faire. We brought our travels mugs for the coffee. That evening we had a hot tub and a swim. Checked out the fitness centre, which was well equipped. Our second morning we had a early checkout (5:45am) and didn't get to enjoy the breakfast. Overall a most positive experience, thanks for a great property.

We recently stayed at the Okotoks Best Western Plus and found it to be a good choice for our family's travels to southern Alberta. The location is excellent, easy to find, and conveniently positioned for bypassing the congestion of Calgary, which was a major plus for us.

As expected from the Best Western chain, the hotel met the standard in many ways, though a few standout issues deserve mention. The continental breakfast was well-appointed with a decent variety of options, but we did notice that resupplying items was slower than we would have liked. On several occasions, we had to ask for basic necessities like cutlery, cups, baked goods, and even milk and juice.

A surprising omission was the lack of complimentary coffee in the lobby, something we've come to expect as standard at Best Western properties. This was a minor inconvenience but noticeable.

The pool area features a fantastic water slide that families with kids would certainly enjoy. However, we were disappointed to find that the pool itself was in need of a professional cleaning. There was a noticeable amount of debris and hair in the water, and some corners of the pool had visible dirty buildups. This detracted from what could have been a highlight of our stay.

Our room was clean and well-appointed, which we appreciated. However, one of the two queen beds had a mattress with collapsed springs on one side, leading to a very uncomfortable sleep. We hope this was an isolated issue, as it did affect our overall comfort.

In summary, while the Okotoks Best Western Plus has the potential to be a great hotel, there are some areas that need attention. With improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, it could easily live up to the high standards we expect from the Best...

First - when booking the hotel on the phone - she did not tell us how much it was. But fine we just wanted to get to a hotel after driving from Texas- and I’ve always had great experiences at best western plus. I view the conformation and the only number on it was 218$ so I assumed that was the total as being a best western rewards member all of the other confirmations I have received have had the total including fees and taxes - I travel every single month and stay in hotels. So when we finally got to the hotel the person at the desk (mami) was horrendous. She didn’t say hi or welcome or anything and then finally said “checking in?” I’m a very unpleasant voice. But as per the confirmation I assumed it was 218$ so when the paperwork(electronic) said 247$ I was very surprised. I asked about it and she seemed very annoyed that I asked. I also saw her interaction with other guests and it was just as unpleasant. And let’s be real 247$ a night is INSANE especially in somewhere like okotoks. I have never paid that much at any other best western plus locations, hiltons, or great wolf lodges. This hotel was very underwhelming. Not to mention when we finally made it to our room everything seems ok however when I went into the bathroom - the floor had someone else’s pony tale on it as well as stuff on the counter tops. When we went down to the pool later - the bathroom in there was so disgusting - there was someone’s poop running down the OUTSIDE of the toilet. There was wet soggy toilet paper all over the bathroom as well. Breakfast - multiple times there was no cutlery, no glasses, no milk. And the food options were not the greatest. The small small dining area was not meant for...

Long story – Short. Don’t pay the $250 for a pool party and try and plan a time. Apparently, it doesn’t gain you anything. Pay $150 for a room, invite your friends, and through your own party. Long Story - If you are planning on booking a Birthday Party using the pool, read this first. We booked the pool for our son’s birthday last weekend. We hosted us and 3 other families, a total of 8 kids and 3 adults in the pool and 4 other adults observing. At 1pm we entered the pool. At approximately 1:15 an additional 10-12 people entered the pool (approx. 6 adults and 6 kids). At this point we now have 27 people in the small pool room at the BW!!! We tried to communicate with the front desk, but they told us there was nothing they could do. That the other people were guests of the hotel and who planned their own event at the same time as ours. We tried talking to management but again didn’t get much sympathy or help. Just blamed it on bad luck. So, our party guests and us were left pretty uncomfortable (at one there was around 10 people trying to use the hot tub with an additional 5 adults seated around it – the slide was continuous lined up…). The worst part was that the Best Western checked all the people in with wrist bands and didn't make any effort to help space out the pool use. Terrible customer service!!! But most important don’t be a jerk. If someone is already hosting an event don’t crowd the pool – wait your turn!!! We didn't want to make a scene and wreck our sons birthday, but some people are pretty inconsiderate. I wouldn't recommend this...
