Great camping ground. It's a first come first serve basis. I'd suggest grabbing a spot first before playing at the entrance kiosk/desk, but stop over at the entrance desk/kiosk first to grab some envelopes. Take a look at the site posts to see when the current campers are leaving, or talk to them. Our group ended up getting the best site on the camp ground, which was right beside the tiny waterfall. Overall it's a great site.

Great campground. Very quiet and peaceful between the trees. Cheap and with free firewood available. Also toilet building and washing facilities, no showers. This was also the first time we encountered a bear (see picture). He came out of the woods and walked by at a close distance! Just magical! This makes you realize that you can encounter bears any time and everywhere!

Minus one star for not having showers, and another train track near by. But if you just want to relax for a day before continuing you trip I do recommend it.

About halfway between Banff & Lake Louise on the Bow Valley Parkway lies this small campground. There's a single loop with only 43 campsites for tenting or small motorhomes. Definitely NOT for pull through units or larger 5th wheel setups. No electrical or sewer hookups are available. Flush toilets and potable drinking water available.||Most of the sites are fairly well separated and surrounded with trees. Front half of the loop is about 100m or so away from the highway; traffic can be heard.||There is very little to do within the immediate area of the campground. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing out of the way site - this would be for you.||The campground was well maintained and wood was always available. A cookhouse with food lockers is available to secure your food during overnight or while you are away. Standard picnic tables and ground level firepits are in all sites.||Being far away from any light sources, the night sky was amazing to see. Conservation officers were regularly on patrol ensuring all campers were following the rules...

The location of this place is great, its right in the middle of banff and lake louise. There is a nice little stream that flows through the campsite and is beside most lots. It is a self register campsite which is nice so you dont have to wait in line forever, and they give you a decent amount of room, although the ground is a bit hard if your tenting. The bathrooms are clean for the most part, (they dont have showers though)and there are lots of taps spread around the site, so you dont have to walk far for clean water. There are also more...

Great campground 1st come 1st served so get up early !! We arrived at 8:30am and had the site number 3 : awesome!! It’s quiet despite the street behind. Not expensive (21$), huge site with fire pit and great picnic table. Not windy, no mosquitoes!! Potable water just in front of us. Perfect location to visit Banff as it’s 20 minutes away from Banff city and Lake Louise. The only thing is the restroom was at the other side of the campground but it’s very clean ! Don’t try to not pay your fire permit as the Rangers comes very often...
