Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)
Dear fellow travelers and motor coach operators:
I am thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino during our stay in July 2023. As representatives of Traxx Coach Lines, we have visited numerous hotels, but this one truly stands out as a hidden gem amidst the majestic Canadian Rockies.
From the moment we arrived, the staff at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino extended a warm and cordial welcome, making us feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth, and the front desk personnel displayed remarkable efficiency and friendliness, ensuring a seamless start to our stay.
The accommodations at this resort are simply outstanding. The rooms are tastefully decorated, exuding comfort and luxury, with a dash of rustic charm that perfectly complements the surrounding natural beauty. We were all impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detail that the housekeeping team exhibited throughout our stay.
As motor coach operators, we often find ourselves searching for facilities that can cater to larger groups efficiently. Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino didn't disappoint in this aspect. The ample parking space for our coaches and the ease of unloading and loading luggage made our lives much more convenient. The resort's management was accommodating, ensuring our group was well taken care of and offering us a seamless experience.
One of the highlights of our stay was the delectable dining options available at the resort. The on-site restaurants offered a diverse range of cuisines, and each meal was an absolute delight. Whether it was a hearty breakfast to kickstart our day, a satisfying lunch to fuel our adventures, or a gourmet dinner to indulge in, the culinary team consistently impressed us with their skill and dedication.
The resort's location is simply breathtaking. Surrounded by the captivating Rocky Mountains, we were treated to breathtaking views right from our rooms and various vantage points around the property. Additionally, the nearby attractions and recreational activities, including hiking trails and sightseeing spots, provided our group with ample opportunities to explore and create lasting memories.
What truly sets Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino apart is the genuine hospitality and care shown by the entire staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that we had an unforgettable experience. From the concierge desk assisting with our travel queries to the friendly servers in the restaurants, their attentiveness and willingness to cater to our needs were commendable.
To conclude, our stay at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino was nothing short of extraordinary. On behalf of Traxx Coach Lines, I highly recommend this resort to fellow motor coach operators and travelers seeking a haven of comfort and luxury in the lap of nature. We can't wait to return and experience this piece of paradise once again.

Read morePaid over 900 CAD for ONE night (2 separate rooms) and I genuinely regret ever doing so. We checked in for our rooms which was booked in advance and paid for upon arrival. The guy at the front desc then told us one of the room wasn’t ready yet, but it was only bedding, so we could make our way up and then it should be finished by the time we got to our room. Guess what? It wasn’t… we stood in the hallway and waited for 10 minutes before we were allowed in the room. We didn’t really think to much of it at the time, but this is just the first layer to the story. A part of the reason why we booked this hotel was for the pool, but we didn’t get to use it. We went down to the pool and as soon as we got in another family with a kid warned us not to get in the main pool because of stuff floating around, which turned out to be what could be an entire roll of dirty tissue/toilet paper. Not just a few pieces but an ENITRE roll. It was everywhere. We then thought we could go in the hot tub, but no… same issue as the pool, but even worse because everything was shredded. Socks and dirty underwear was also laying around. I doubt any staff has been around the pool area throughout the day. We went to the front desc to be greeted by someone who seemed to tired to be bothered, explained our issues and the response seemed more like an auto reply than an actual service. She then told us it would be 20 minutes till she could probably get ahold of any staff and then they would have a look on the issue. We didn’t bother going back to check and see if the issue were ever solved. We explained our reason for booking and that we were pretty disappointed considering everything and we’ve only been there for a little over an hour at this point. They didn’t offer any type of compensation or solution to the problem even though we did ask. We were even willing to check out if that meant we could get a refund, but no. The food at the restaurant was okay for the price, but that’s about it. They claim they do classic drinks, but we were told by a confused waitress that it wasn’t possible and they only did what was listed on the menu card, until we told her the menu card literally says “We do any classic drinks” and then we eventually got the drinks. Overall I would never ever recommend this place to anyone, especially at the price point that I paid for my rooms. Service at this place is none existent and the only kind staff we met was a young woman who told us where the pool is located. I’ve been to many hotels, but this place takes the price for my personal worst experience. We changed our plans for the next day so we only had to spend the night and then checked out early at around 6:30… spend less than 12 hours at this place...

After a day of hiking 5 of us walked in hoping for dinner before we had to part ways and watched the sever just seat a couple. We saw a table for 4 and a table for 2 clean and set. There were only about 12 tables total. After waiting for 5-10 minutes at the door and making eye contact with 4 staff nearby, we walked closer to the “please wait to be seated sign” and waited for another 5 or so minutes before my aunt started walking towards the staff asking if we could have a table for dinner. The server looks at the two empty tables and shrugs saying there was only a 4 top open so it would be a 45 minute wait. We asked if they could just pull a chair from the other open table but they seemed insulted and said there would be no way for the staff to get around the table even though there was a ton of space. We tried going to the lounge but my brother forgot his ID and they wouldn’t let us in. We spent about 10-15 minutes waiting in the lounge to see whether he could just eat and not order any drinks. We then went back to the restaurant and a new couple was waiting there. We explained that we were just there and couldn’t get into the lounge and tried to get the attention of the server. We watched as two groups at the booth left and staff busily cleaned the 4 tops next to each other. Then the server acted like she had never seen us before and promptly sat the couple at one of the booths even though there was a clean 4 top and 2 top available. We asked if we could have three people on the booth which was quite spacious and had plenty of room between the other tables but they were firm saying no there was no way we could do that. We then explained we were starving and pleaded to just let us split up so two of us could sit at the 2 top and the other three could sit at the 4 top. The server seemed uncomfortable and said it would be a very very very long wait because she has just sat another table and still needed to help a second table. The place seemed to be under control and as someone who has worked in the service industry for years, I couldn’t see any signs the restaurant seemed out of control or overly busy for the number of staff. After sitting down for a number of minutes, we started to feel extremely uncomfortable and it was clear no one was going to serve us, so we finally walked out. We wasted at least an hour, starving, and the situation really put a damper on the evening with my family. I felt we were being polite and patient and I do not know why we were treated so poorly but I will not be returning and neither will my...
