Charming Stay at Kings Den Resort’s Yogi Cabin I was traveling from the Okanagan to Edmonton and decided to stop for two nights at Kings Den Resort in the adorable Yogi Cabin. My elderly parents stayed the first night in their own Grizzly Cabin, and while both cabins had a rustic charm with modern amenities, the Yogi Cabin definitely stood out for its character and coziness. I suspect the Yogi Cabin is a newer build, and I really hope they add more of these small A-frames—they’re perfect for solo travelers, both in size and price. Although the cabins are just a few yards from the highway, we didn’t hear any noise once inside, which was a pleasant surprise. One small downside: the Yogi Cabin doesn’t officially include access to the hot tub. That said, I used it both nights without any issues, but it would be nice if guests staying in this cabin were explicitly invited to use the hot tub like everyone else. Lastly, my parents did notice a lack of a railing on the steps outside the Grizzly Cabin, which they felt was a bit of a safety concern. Overall, I’d highly recommend Kings Den Resort for its comfort, atmosphere, and convenient location, just a short drive from Revelstoke and plenty of natural attractions.

Just a short drive out of Revelstoke, this place was perfect location and so peaceful. The host provided detailed instructions to find the cabin and make sure we got in ok. We rented the Spirit Bear Cabin which has a small kitchenette stocked with everything required for cooking at home (hot plate, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven etc). This cabin also has a private hot tub that we enjoyed a lot. The loft bedroom area came with linens and pillows and were comfy. Bathroom was supplied with towels and shampoo/conditioner/wash, everything was pretty much immaculately clean when we arrived and we loved the atmosphere of the place. So cozy for a quick getaway in the mountains. Hot tub was cleaned while we were there and the property was tidy and well maintained. Not sure what the post was about spiders, I saw one small cobweb near a light but zero bugs lol. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family, or coming back next time we are in Revelstoke. Thanks for a great stay!

A little close to highway. No fenced compound. This being said, the cabins are unique and comfortable. Practicality and affordability are strong points! Hot tubs, bbqs, and I even noticed a smoker! The grounds manicured and in obvious transition with landscape and more infrastructure! Overall the experience is pleasant and owner is flexible! Yay small business!!

If I could give zero stars, i would. Total lipstick on a pig with the pictures and descriptions. The cabins are on a gravel lot facing a loud highway 30 feet from the front door. In retrospect, we noticed the convenient angles and cropping of photos to convey a different reality.

We had to wait for issue after issue to be resolved with promised amenities. We sat through Wifi reconfigurations and kitchenette resupplies. The owner was unprepared.

The owner claimed our dogs were on the furniture and wanted to charge us a dog deposit which was contrary to prior discussions and the Airbnb contract. She had long back and forth contact with my wife regarding our dogs long before arrival. She retaliated for her own incompetence by writing lies on our Airbnb review (after we were polite with our review). They claim to be super dog friendly so we were surprised by her contrarian words and actions.

After all the disappointment we couldn’t wait to leave. We would have left upon arrival if it weren’t for the financial penalty. We couldn’t believe the place we showed up to was the place advertised onllne. It was truly the worst experience for an overpriced dump and truly tainted our experience in Revelstoke. Avoid this rental, avoid this unscrupulous owner and expect your dog deposit to be taken if you have a pet. Our happiest moment was leaving #basecampguesthouse and never...

Update: The owner seems to like to argue with their guests rather than take their feedback to heart. Highly NOT recommended. It’s obvious that I tried to call before I had to drive around to find somebody. Instructions via email was expected, and clearly was not delivered. Hopefully it will be better in the future.

Either way, if you’re looking for a cabin facing the highway, this is your place.

—— The Kodiak and Gizzly cabins are facing the highway. It will be very loud! There is also a construction site RIGHT BESIDE the Grizzly cabin with someone working 8 hours on a skid steer, which had a loud beeping sound when it moves. Super annoying if you have noise sensitivity.

Check-in was confusing because I was not given any instructions. Had to drive around to find someone to talk to.

The hot tub was definitely nice.

The wood fire BBQ was more trouble than it's worth since the thermometers were confusing to read, and heat very hard to sustain.

We paid $280/night in August which felt a little overpriced for what it was.

But we had a great time in...
