I was the third guest to stay at the Valley Retreat and it was an absolute pleasure. We were coming all the way from New Jersey in the states, and since this was a brand new place with no reviews yet, we were rolling the dice. We ended up winning big! We were there for 5 awesome nights.
First of all, the place is brand spanking new. Gutted from top to bottom and everything was done right. This is not your grandma's B&B, everything is brand new and well appointed.... "rustic chic" as my wife would say. May have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept it. After one long powder day at Revelstoke I slept for 15 hours!
The breakfast was fresh, healthy and hearty. The food was locally sourced wherever possible. Coffee from a local roastery, organic eggs and milk, bacon and sausage from the butcher shop...just everything done right.
Also, the hot tub is brand new and stayed at 105* Fahrenheit the entire time(sorry Canadian friends, still haven't figured out Celsius). While soaking after a long day of skiing you can see the groomers going to work on the mountain.
Lastly, as important as the accommodations at a B&B is the company. The owner Ryan is just an awesome guy. He has an intense passion for snowboarding and traveling, which also happen to be two of my favorite things. He goes way above and beyond to make sure his guests are having a good time and have all of their needs met. He built out the garage with a bar and waxing station for ski's and snowboards. It was a great place to have a few beers without bothering the other guests. Also, your only about a mile to the resort.
Like I said, not your grandma's B&B. We are in our early 30's and Ryan is around the same age. If you are powder junky between 18-60, this is a perfect accommodation for a ski vacation at a world...
Read moreWe had the most incredible stay at Valley Retreat over Christmas! From the moment we arrived, we knew we’d chosen the perfect place for our holiday. The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and cozy—everything you could want for a festive getaway. The living area was perfect for relaxing after a long day of skiing, and the fully equipped kitchen made preparing Christmas dinner a breeze. It was a magical setting for the holiday, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the meal and unwind.
One of the standout features of our stay was the easy access to the slopes. It was so convenient to hit the trails each day, knowing we were just a short distance from the lifts. After skiing, the retreat was the perfect spot to come back to and relax.
A huge bonus was the snow shovelling that Ryan did every morning. It might seem like a small thing, but it really added to the experience. We didn’t have to worry about getting out of the driveway or trudging through snow to get to the car—it was always cleared and ready to go, making our mornings that much smoother.
Ryan was an exceptional host, making sure everything was in place for a smooth and memorable stay. His attention to detail and thoughtfulness truly made the experience unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!
Highly recommend Valley Retreat for anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic escape with easy access to outdoor adventure and all the...
Read moreRecently I had the opportunity to spend a few days and nights at Valley Retreat and loved it.
I've stayed at many B&B/Inns in the past and typically they are home-y, comfortable...and a bit boring. Valley Retreat is different, and if you are headed to Revelstoke with a group and you're looking for a super comfortable home base for adventure, this is your spot.
The location is great. The grounds are very well taken care of, the property is quite large, and there are views in every direction.
Ryan has a nicely equipped and comfortable shop to store bikes/skis and includes tuning benches for boards/skis and a great space for bike tuning/repairs.
Inside you'll find a kitchen any cook would love, adjacent to a huge communal table that seats ~16. There are two living common areas with TV/audio and all the walls feature art from local artists. The vibe is fun, funky, and encourages good times with the group.
Outside there is a long, covered porch, a large grill, and a hot tub.
The rooms are spacious and well furnished. From the dark, wide, wooden plank flooring to top shelf towels and linens, Valley Retreat does not cut any corners.
Lastly, the owner/operator Ryan is a fantastic host. He went out of his way to make sure our group was enjoying every minute of our time in Revelstoke and it honestly made my stay very memorable. I...
