COVID-19 observations July 26th: Crowded and with drinking social distancing isn't usually followed. Outhouses don't have hand sanitizer so you need to provide your own. Some rangers wore masks, others did not.
Group camping/first come first served: Rather odd because while check in is at 1pm, rangers didn't come by for payment until around 7pm. Not normally a huge deal but with a high demand, campers are anxious to secure a spot that is theirs. The parking lot for the group campsites gets VERY FULL as well, and one has to get creative if their party comes up in more than 1 vehicle.
Facilities: Outhouses were fine, sometimes stinky and lacked hand sanitizer. Garbages became full on occasion but was kept up with. Firepits and picnic tables were up to standard. Roads into the park are all bumpy gravel and you'll have to follow signs as there is no cell service pretty much as soon as you enter Sasquatch park. Boat launch is good and decent parking space in the day use area. Lots of trails to explore around the lake! A park for kids was open which was nice.
Overall a good and...
Read moreBeautiful location. Good size campgrounds. We got the double site and there was lots of room for everything we needed to set up. The lake is nice and close. We caught one tiny fish, catch and release. Only downside was in my opinion, there is not enough pit toilets for how many sites there are. And if you are not a fan of noise after hours, there is definitely a issue with traveling noise. You can hear other campers if they are loud and there is no late night patrols. The park staff do a great job of cleaning and keeping up on things. They are super friendly and informative. There is lots of garbage and recycling boxes. The pit toilets do have toilet paper as well. There is nice spots along the lake to sit. There is one section where the geese are, so the grass there is a no go. We left early from the insane amount of mosquitoes, like others did, but still a...
