Where to begin... surf junction simply looked awesome on paper, and on their webpage.
Yeah, I guess a hot tub, sauna, and all their ammenities would be really much enjoyed. Even the gentleman on the phone arranging our group reservation was more than pleasant, and actually seemed to want our business.
But on arriving, it simply went from bad to worse, and then to outright silly.
we rented two sites next to each other for two nights. They were incredibly less than accomodating.
if you have a family, children, pets... if you enjoy conversation at any volume above that of a mouse.. if you are simply breathing too loud beyond 6pm.. don't waste your time here.
surf junction is a complete waste of time.. and they did in fact waste the time of our large group. We actually had to find an alternate campsite in Ucluelet.
The major issue here was the incredibly impolite and inconsiderate staff. One lady in particular. The group next to us simply was a very quiet couple playing a game of cards of some sort at their camp table with a lantern burning dimly... where they were warned to be quiet, and risked getting kicked out.
Yes, we had a larger group, and yes we do enjoy campfire conversation.
There is simply no reason for the ridiculous behavior of this campsite... and as our group was an average age of 26-32... I cannot begin to say we weren't a 'teeny bopper party' type group.
DO NOT GO HERE. i suggest (highly) either greenpoint campground, or the campground right in Ucluelet. This...

Campground is nice, clean and has good amenities.
On our first night, at 11.15pm we were sat around a campfire chatting and having a few beers, we were informed by a friendly member of staff that the quiet time was 11pm and we would have to keep it down. We decided it was time to call it a night and so we immediately tidied up. We were brushing our teeth when a second, much more aggressive, member of staff came by at 11.30, 15 minutes later. He was threatening and told us that he had received 2 complaints about us which was "rare and never happens" and we had to shut it down right away (even though it was clear that we were going to sleep). He said he "would be on the campsite all weekend" and would be "keeping an eye" on us. He was extremely condescending and unprofessional in his approach, almost shaking as he was telling us off. This was extremely inappropriate and unexpected, we stayed here last year and never had a problem and got along with all the members of staff. It could have been understandable had we been remotely loud or disruptive. He even said "make sure you clean up all your food because this is exactly where all the bears enter our camp ground." Refering to...
Read moreFirst off I would like to say I have lived in bear country all my life and pride myself in keeping a tidy campsite in that respect. Left the campsite in the middle of the day with a stainless steel cooler with cans of beer on ice out. Staff took the cooler and proceeded to charge my credit card 25.00 dollars. (apparently a set of fines they have incorporated into your camping experience)No warning or any mention of a money grab scheme when we checked in. That cooler is strictly for beer not food. There's a lot of things in this park that would attract bears my cooler with beer in it not being one. I suggest not leaving a credit card at the front desk for them to swipe whenever they feel the til is a little short.
Response to your response. A cleaning fee would suggest you had to clean something up? Someone simply took my cooler and wanted to sell it back to me. You didn't address the issue of unauthorised debit of one's credit card?? Somthing your guests should know about in reviews before booking. This can be a tricky one...
