I strongly recommend avoiding this place and not giving them your time or money. This man running it is an aggressive person who may or may not allow you into the site depending on how grumpy he’s feeling. We go camping all the time up Squamish valley road for free, but thought we might try out this place for fun. We asked the fellow at the gate if we could do a quick drive through to check it out. He recommended one site, then we told him we were going to try build a hot tub (basically you dig a hole in the sand and put a tarp in it) so he recommended site 19 which you see he circled on the map he gave to us. We did a drive through and thought site 19 was pretty sweet, we came back to the gate and told him we were just going to check one spot up the road but would probably be back in 20 minutes. He gave us a weird look but we didn’t think much of it. Shortly after we returned, waited for 5 minutes, no sign of the man. My boyfriend got out of the car to go see where he might be. After a few minutes he came back, apparently the guy was driving through the site in his truck avoiding us. We waited for another 10 minutes or so and the old man finally returned. He started yelling at us to go away. “You waste my time 3 times!” Which made no sense as we’d only been there once before. We kept trying to ask him why he was refusing us service, we had $30 in our hands to give to him. Then he said “you want to build a hot tub, this is a protected fishery!” We told him we didn’t need to build one, and asked why he didn’t tell us that before. Then he started yelling saying “we’re full, go away!”. It was a Wednesday and there was literally no one else in the site. So apparently you’re not allowed to even consider camping anywhere else if you want to camp here. If you go to a coffee shop and check out their menu, then go to the shop next door just to have a peak at theirs, is the first shop allowed to refuse you service for that? I don’t know where the line is. Did he refuse us service because of our age? Because one of us has an accent? Because I’m a girl? I’ve read a lot of reviews online claiming that he is a misogynist , but who knows. To us he just seemed like a bad person who clearly is mad that he has to do his job. Please don’t give him your money, he can’t even keep the site clean. It’s littered with old campers that look like they’ve been rotting there for 20 years. Support our BC parks and free camping areas but please respect nature and the wildlife and clean up after yourself!!

My girl friend and I had an amazing time. Ali is such a nice guy and super laid back. The ppl there were calm, and easy to talk to and be around. Above all of that, is the relaxing views and scenery were literally awesome. The river is cold, because it is fed by ice/snow melt, and carries a lot of silt. The land/property is huge, the sites were also big and well taken care of. It sucked that there is a BC wide fire ban. Camping without a fire just isn’t the same. I really liked how ppl were so accepting and kind to Jax the dog. My girl friend and I will definitely be back. I love the highway…but the road to the property was so scenic, green, smooth and in good condition. It maybe my new favourite road to drive. (30mins to Tim Hortons from your site, so worth it for morning coffee). The properties road was all gravel, but it was flat and probably only two maybe three pot-holes. The campground is right in nature, near the river. The mountains and glacier can be seen from all around. It was soooo green and calming. The sound of the moving water I think soothed everyone to sleep. There was a massive group of college kids. We expected they would be drinking, yelling and making noise into the early hours. They were super respectful and shut it all down at 11;00pm. They were doing events all day.with the bull horn, and DJ’s at night. It was a great place, time, and ppl. Ali, and the land rocks. We will most definitely be back! The price was a bit high, but worth it.

This is my second time coming here and it is one of the most beautiful campsites I’ve been to. Ali the owner is a very kind person and I would say booking this campsite was the most stress-free and easiest thing to do. I booked three months in advance, which is crazy to think about nowadays and the campsite was still fully booked. I would say the Porta potty’s were generally as okay as Porta potties get, but do you get regularly cleaned out as I saw the restroom service truck come at least twice within a threeday stay. I do recommend bringing your own toilet paper still though especially staying on a weekend as so many people use it, it runs out quickly plus it’s thin. I would say this is more preference on my part. When we arrived, our campsite was clean and in a beautiful spot right by the river. The overall atmosphere was great during the day. It’s very family and friends oriented with people playing and having fun on the river at least in the summer. One thing I particularly liked is that there’s no strict rules like other BC parks have with noise restrictions. If that’s something you like, I would say this campsite is good for you.

I was camping here with a girlfriend August 18-19 and I had a terrible experience. The reviews that say the owner is rude, aggressive, and misogynist are 100% accurate. The only reason this place gets good reviews is due to the location by the river since the campground itself is kept in poor conditions with garbage found everywhere. On Thursday evening we found out by a film crew member that there was a shooting taking place in the campground starting at 6 am. Although the set was on the other side of the campground, their prep area was right across from us, only being separated by a narrow dirt road. There were trucks, trailers, and staff everywhere. It was louder than sleeping next to the highway. In fact, the next day another crew member asked whether we were aware of the shooting because they were shocked to have people camping right across from them. Needless to say, it was impossible to have a quiet nature experience. At one point we decided to go walk the trails and another crew member told us to turn around since they had released wolves for one of their scenes. It is also true what the reviews say about the campground being a party site. On Friday afternoon, all the young punks arrived and started blasting music. By then we had had enough and decided to cut our trip short and leave instead of staying until Saturday morning like we had planned and already paid for. On our way out we communicated our disappointment to the owner Ali for not informing us about the film crew and for having one of his staff to make us specifically take one of the four sites right across from the prep filming area. Those sites should have been closed to customers but clearly Ali was trying to profit from both the film crew and campers. Ali said he had no obligation to disclose such information and denied the film crew doing prep work right across from us. We told him to go back with us to the site so he could see their massive prep area with his own eyes. At that point he snapped on us and told us to get out of his campground. We got no apology and no refund. Ali was shady and aggressive and, as a woman, his reaction made me feel quite unsafe. I recommend you to stay away from this campground. You can find great backcountry spots along the river, which are cleaner,...

First time at SVC Aug 2022- myself and two young children under 6. positives- was able to get a booking fairly easily, everywhere else had been booked already for ages. Ali was helpful and friendly at the gate and responsive to my emails when I was booking as well. He took the time to chat to my older child which was noted and appreciated. Kids enjoyed the river beach setting, making mud pies for hours. picnic table was solid quality and porta potties were in surprisingly good shape. Was not an issue to bring our own water. Road is paved all the way to main gate, my dinky hatchback was fine on the unpaved gravel campground roads.

Negatives- the partying is INTENSE. like rave level loud. 20 somethings screaming along to songs late at night, taking over the entire beach smoking up and beer pong. I did not want the kids around that so we retreated. When we arrived I had to clean up beer cans from my site and we saw lots of cans all over the river area and other garbage. This concerned me as it is a bear hazard. Also I did not feel that the garbage receptacles at the campsites were bear-proof. I would recommend that SVC upgrade these containers to the 'hand latch' style found other spots in Squamish.

Overall, I may consider coming back mid-week if weekdays are less of a party. The setting is very beautiful and relaxing but the thumping bass and shouting detracted from this and went on much, much later than 11pm. Even when they turned the music off the partiers then walked around the campground to the toilets speaking so loudly it woke my children up. To move to the sites further from the partying means being much further from the beach too.

I wish no speaker, family campsites...
