We are really glad we booked this pet friendly place on our trip from Vancouver to Nelson with final destination Creston. We booked in the lower unit, this guest house is right across the road from Ainsworth hot springs ( NOTE: which closes at 9 pm.)||||Originally only had one night available, on our way were contacted that if interested we could take two nights. SO GLAD we had this option, could have stayed a week!!! It was a pleasant surprise and surpassed what we expected. Fabulous location, view and amenities. Immaculate, comfy and cozy decor. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee beans, coffee grinder, kettle, pots, dishes, utensils etc... just like home!!! DO a shop before you arrive as there is nothing within 15-20 minutes and selection may be basic or hours of operation may not work for you!! We brought a few snacks, fruits, veggies, baked goodies, wine etc... from our visit in Nelson earlier (40 minute drive). Kaslo is a great place to visit 15-20 minutes away!! Highly recommend!||||Loved having a deck, lots of windows and the lake view out front was breathtaking!! Just a short walk down to the lake and climb back up to the suite. Our teenage daughter and friend LOVED it as did our Lab... we will definitely try to get back to this lil piece of paradise! ...
Read moreWe booked two nights in the lower floor condo. Location is great, right on the lake and across the street is the hot spring. Lake view is right at the window. The suite is spacious and very clean. The decoration and furniture arrangement are indeed very homey! No wonder many reviews say they don't want to leave the place! There is also a fire place that we actually used in one of our nights and it worked well. The room has electric heating too but the fire place just adds more seasonal touch to it. Kitchen is fully equipped even with olive oil and some spices. People mentioned the smell in the bathroom in previous review, and I think it is still there. You can leave the fan on to reduce smell though.||The things I think could have some improvement is first to replace the cooking pan with some non-stick pan. The current one is too easy to burn. Then this comes with the second which is the vent system in the kitchen as currently there is not any. With a burning pan and no vent, the room can be filled with smoke quickly. In such cold winter days it is hard to keep the windows open to get the smoke out. So either a non-stick pan or some vent hood in the kitchen would be helpful. ||Overall it is lovely place and I wonder how fun it will be in...
Read moreWhen you first pull up, you might have your doubts. You'll have to park on the very edge of a busy road, and the guest house hides it's secrets well from the front. However, once you walk inside, prepare to be amazed. We stayed in the Sunset Suite, on the top floor, and were wowed by the view, impressed by the size of the suite, and thrilled will all the amenities. A full kitchen, two bedrooms, a lovely living room area, and a deck with a propane BBQ, dining set, and some very comfortable deck chairs. With the huge windows, you'll wake up to a gorgeous sunrise, and you can walk down a charming pathway (with a ton of stairs) to a private rock beach! Across the street, you can grab breakfast at Betty O's, dinner at Ktunaxa Grill in the hotel, or an evening soak in the hot springs. This is one of those spots that, if it's available, you should book...
