A wonderful place to stay. Everything is clean and well kept. The self-check in was super easy - you just find your name on the board and go find your room. The room was small but comfortable. The bathrooms are everything you need. We enjoyed the common room, terrific kitchen and study. It's right across the road from the beach where we walked and enjoyed the sunset. Most people we met there were going on or returning from an excursion. You can walk from the airport and it's an easy walk to the grocery store and to Hekate's Clubhouse and Raincoast Breads.

This is a beautiful space to stay in Sandspit! Great views of the ocean, lots of space to relax outside and enjoy the ocean breeze, views including a bench at the beach and fire pit. The kitchen is huge, and it has everything you’d need to assemble your own meals. Very clean, very organized! Cozy shared living area. The owners are so nice and helpful. The only downside I would say is the single bathroom that is shared amongst all the guests, if the house is full it can be in high demand. And if you’re in the dorm room across the kitchen it can be noisy!

A lovely, well-decorated, clean, and cozy B&B with five rooms perfect for an overnight stay before or after a trip with one of the local tour operators. We enjoyed using the common room and kitchen (which comes stocked with coffee and tea), and since it was raining and cold, we were able to fire up the wood stove to ward off the chill. Depending on your interest in cooking or dining out, the Super Valu grocery store and The Clubhouse restaurant are just a 15 minute walk away. A walk on the beach may produce a glimpse of a Bald Eagle or two.

URGENT WARNING: Stay Away from Flavien Mabit & Bayview Garden – Extremely Dangerous Experience||||I am writing this with deep trauma and emotional distress. My experience with Flavien Mabit, the host of Bayview Garden in Haida Gwaii, was nothing short of horrifying. He is not just culturally insensitive or emotionally unstable—his behavior was so cruel and inhumane that I can only describe him as a psychological terrorist.||||I traveled from Montreal all the way to this remote island based on his promises. During my stay, I fell severely ill—with high fever, extreme weakness, throat infection, and complete loss of voice. I could barely walk. Instead of helping me, Flavien forcibly threw me out of his house. He called 911 and abandoned me at the hospital without any follow-up or concern.||||From there, my nightmare only worsened. I had nowhere to go, and ended up sleeping on the streets in the rain and cold for two nights, while seriously ill, weak, and alone. The pain, fear, and humiliation I suffered are indescribable.||||Flavien Mabit showed zero humanity or basic decency. He placed me in a life-threatening situation on a remote island with no support. His actions were heartless, dangerous, and emotionally violent. I was made to feel like garbage, discarded without care.||||This man is not just an unfit host—he is a madman, a failure in life, and a mental terrorist. His behavior should disqualify him from hosting or interacting with vulnerable people.||||If you value your health, dignity, and safety, I strongly urge you to stay far away from Flavien Mabit and Bayview Garden. No one deserves to go through what I...

Flavien (The owner) was amazing. I originally got his number from the airport because, as cycle tourers, we needed a place to store our bike boxes (We packed our bikes in boxes for the flight, but needed them for the return flight). He offered to store them for free in his garage, and even met us at the airport to greet us! After 10 days of touring up and down Haida Gwaii, we decided to stay there. We were able to disassemble our bikes and repack them the last night, then I borrowed a bike from Flavien to go the the airport and grab a cart to bring the boxes back to the terminal. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was amazing, we got to cook whatever we wanted from his well stocked kitchen, bacon, fruit, pancakes, eggs, coffee and toast. It was all very well...

I had long wanted to have a stay at Bayview, and finally got my chance. I knew it would be nice, but it was actually way beyond my expectations. Cozy, and comfy, and pretty, with lots of touches like art, and great books, and very cool mugs, and live wood finishing. The kitchen was immaculate, a well equipped. And of course, the view. Flavien was so easygoing and kind. And, sincerely, a role model as well, because everything is set up with trust for the guests. It felt like one of those places when you travel where you can feel all the good vibes that have been and could be It really was a much -more -than-I - expected experience, and I’ll definitely be back. |Thanks Flavien...
