The site we had was nice 🙂we booked N5 & N6 Double site. We did not book the site and have never been there so we did not know for where we would be. BUT that site level we were on was off the Highway and we were tenting so all night we heard vehicles esp the big trucks go by all night😳😢 good for camper/RV’s And it would have been nice if the park caretaker/ranger would have told us to make to tie everything down especially our canopy tents because we arrived later in the afternoon, we set Up and went down to the water/lake. When we got back all our canopy tents and umbrellas were blown away due to moderate wind squalls.😳. It was fine after we batton down, sort a speak. The bathroom, we had to walk down a slightly steep walkway/stairs. So if you have knee or hip issues not a good level to book. Also FYI you can only pitch a tent on the gravel not the grass area’s. We had to drive down to the lake but it is walkable going down and You would have to walk up a steady incline. Our site did not have electricity but that was fine for us we didn’t need it. Positive side: The Lake is Beautiful! and the water was just as beautiful. It made up for everything. The washrooms and showers were clean. The whole campsite was clean and spacious sites. I recommend the booking the lower levels Especially the lowest that is closest to the lake Prices was reasonable $35 per site per night. Other campers were friendly enough but only when engaged. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because of the cars sounds going by all night. Otherwise it would have...
Read moreWe went to the north Okanagan campground this week and it was great. The lot sizes were large and had a fair bit of space between them. We tented it and the lots were gravel. This site is really close to the highway though. You can hear the highway from the top row (where we stayed) all the way to the lake at the bottom. The sound didn't bother us but it may be annoying if you're looking for a quiet place. |Toilets flushed and there's running water and a shower house. |If you're wondering the difference between the north and south campground, we drove over and found they're quite different|The south had a lovely bathroom(north was meh), a playground close to the lake with wood chips, a 'movie theatre', concession, ice for sale |However the lots were so small and so so close together. I also don't even know how people had their tents pitched as it was pretty much all concrete. I'd say better for rvs than tents. |Both campsites have rocky beaches so I highly recommend water shoes. They helped my husband so much while me and the kids made do with bare feet |Summary: I would do the north again. We really enjoyed our stay. I wouldn't do the south because I like...
Read moreThis site is not so much nicer than the South side but rather different. The south has more sites actually right on the water, but those sites are very close together and not as private. The North end sites are all away from the lake, but with a view of the water. They are way more private though. It depends what you want. The south end had a kids play area. I did not notice if the north end had this. The beach at the North end is very nice though. There is also a beach for dog lovers. The are two footpaths between the two sites, one along the water and one higher up. The one along the water has had a landslide though, so you may need to walk down to the water to get past the slide. I think if I had kids I'd choose south. If I valued a bit more privacy I'd choose north. The showers in the South end were very clean and functioned well but like so many provincial places, there was nowhere but the shower floor to put your shampoo. There was wood available and separate sinks to wash dishes. The water has a "boil water" advisory which is not well posted. I found out after drinking the water from the dishwashing sinks! I seem to be...
