I've had the pleasure of backpacking the Berg Lake trail 3 times in the past 20 years, and recently, I decided to just enjoy a day hike to Kinney Lake, I didn't even realise what I had been missing by dedicating time just to this first lake. Spending the time to just go and relax for the day by Kinney Lake was the best decision I've made. The walk to is such a beautiful forest walk, with a well-defined and open trail. Once you're at the lake, there are picnic tables and a covered rest area to take advantage of, or you can sit and enjoy the rocky beach. I might just have to plan a day hike here again. Highly recommend!

It is a super easy hike to kinney lake. We never stay at this campground because it is only 2 hours from the parking lot. Usually very crowded because everyone just come to visit the lake and doesn't spend the night here. There is always a chance of rain at mount Robson so don't forget your rain jacket

Well maintained and beautiful trail. However the trail from Kinney lake to Berg lake is closed. The sign says that it will open in 2025.
