A gem of a place snuggled up right next to the ocean.
The Moose Lodge offers four rustic cabins that face the ocean, with a cafe providing breakfast and lunch service.
The cabins might appear underwhelming from outside, during day time. But they start to shine or rather glow with warmth as the sun sets. The cabins come with a double bed on the main floor and either a couple single beds or a double and a single bed, depending on the cabin and occupancy.
The interiors are very cozy, with warm lights, comfortable mattress and a space heater to keep you warm. Power sockets are available for charging electronics. Linen sets and towels are available for a small fee.
Washrooms are situated close by, in a stand alone unit with individual washrooms for every cabin that can be accesses with the cabin key set. While having attached washrooms would have been even better, this setup works too, especially considering hot water is available.
The view from the upper section of the cabin is spectacular and you can see the sky meet the sea from the windows and gaze at the stars at night.
There is a dedicated space to barbeque or have a small campfire.
A short walk of under 5 minutes takes you to the beach that gives you first class tickets to the intense drama of the waves. The beach is full of rocks of all sizes and it's important to watch your step. But the rocks bring out a nice sound every time the waves crash over, which can be heard all the way to the cabins.
The host, Ton is very responsive and accommodating.
The cafe serves delicious fare for a very reasonable price. Must visit.

Read moreI loved my quick little visit to ZzzzMoose Lodge on my solo (with my dog) trip around Cabot Trail. The host was very good at keeping me informed. The amenities were very well organized. Even though the bathroom is in a separate building, you get your own key to your own small 3 piece bathroom. There was heating in the bathroom and in the cabin, so though it was cold out, I was very comfortable. I even got my own designated mini fridge in their communal kitchen area. My dog loved to run around. There's a beautiful rock beach access from a very short trail. The breakfast was fantastic (not included, but reasonable prices). My only 4 star is because the cabins were closer to the road than I anticipated. Even so, there were a fair number of developed trees to block the noise and add privacy. Really enjoyed our cabin...

The details about this location are spelled out distinctly and accurately in the listing, i.e. the bathroom is in a separate building, you need to being your own sheets/blankets/towels, the beach is a rocky one. If you are delighted by what you read, you will have a memorable stay. If you don’t read and stay anyway, the...
