A nice hotel, convenient location, perfect if you are travelling through. Right in the middle of Bonaventure and at the seaside, so you can go for a walk and enjoy the sea breeze. Right next door there is a museum on Acadian history and a beautiful church, apparently there are seals too (we didn't see any though).|Very friendly staff, speedy check in. Rooms are very clean; simple, but tastefully furnished and rather spacious, equipped with a small fridge. There is a coffee machine (but no kettle).|You can charge your phone right next to your bed, which we found very practical.|Our bathroom was very small and did not have a fan, so even after a quick shower everything is quite wet. |The aircon seemed to leak a bit, there was always a small puddle underneath it. It worked well though.|The only real issue is that the walls are very thin. We did not hear the road so much, but people in the neighbouring rooms, even though they did not talk loudly. |The hotel has a restaurant that offers breakfast and dinner, but we cannot comment on the quality of the food as we didn't eat there.|Prices seemed relatively high, but I guess that's the location.|Definitely a nice hotel for a...
Read moreThis hotel was very, very overpriced for what we got. Given the price, I expected a private balcony and many amenities. Rather, what we got was a very small room, with an tv and one chair. Although we had a balcony, it was not private, and worst of all, very bright lights came on at sunset and stayed on all night, meaning we could not enjoy our view of the bay and maintain privacy because we had to close the drapes. Same thing in the morning. Other than the comfortable bed, there were no amenities: no gym, no water, tea or coffee at the entrance, no breakfast, no comfortable lounge or pool, no towels to go swimming…just nothing but a small coffee machine in the room. The “beach” is not an added feature. Despite the city allowing fires on the beach, the hotel does not permit it, so there was really no benefit to paying more to be in this location, which had been somewhat upgraded, but continues to look and feel old. Front desk staff were not helpful and answered questions with some judgement rather than being helpful. No one asked how our stay was-...
Read moreThis hotel is perfectly located right on the water, with beautiful sunset and close to everything in town. The restaurant is excellent, along with the service. The hotel staff were extremely friendly. However, do not expect a super fancy hotel with elevators. No elevators, carpeted hallways that are not sound-proof so when you are sleeping in your room and hear people walking and talking through the hallways. Our room was a city view room, 1 queen bed, the room was horrible, the AC blew out humid musty air, old dirty carpet throughout the room, and the shower stall sprayed water directly out so the floor was always wet. Our friends had taken a city side room with 2 beds and their room was perfect, updated, no carpets. So I assume certain rooms need updating. The hotel was fully booked so we could not change rooms, but other than that we had...
