Upon arrival was greeted and treated wonderfully. Was assigned my room and left to go get food and such after acquiring key card. I was assigned room 306. After returning I proceeded to room 306 and started to bring personal effects in. This was a 2 queen basic room rental. As I first entered the room to my disappointment there were floor damages. Missing carpet. This was very unexpected and unfortunate. Horrible first thing to see Stepping into the room. Called front desk and they changed me to room 305 across the hall. Great. Same room , no view except into a construction site. The soundproofing is decent but it does sit next to a major highway so that you did hear the larger vehicles or traffic. Again the location is very convenient and close to everything you could need. After settling in and throwing on some world juniors hockey. I was content with the new room , having food and going to check out the pool and grounds. The decor and lay out is exceptional. The staff were also except one which I believe to have been the General Manager. I didn't ask or care to. All the others were above and beyond which kinda left her in the dust. As I was grabbing breakfast in the morning( this employee approached me at the yogurt fridge) she asked can I help you. This may seem innocent to most but to me a 43 year old man I'm pretty sure I'm capable and successful at providing myself with getting yogurt. I replied that I am looking for a certain kind (vanilla)and reassured her that I could and would be fine on my own. This bothered me first thing in the morning and my starts to my day are crucial to how my day is going to go. I left it alone and moved forward. As I later returned to the breakfast buffet which the food was good and no complaints there. I made waffles which came out underdone and now the second time the same person approached me and said I quote did you wait for it to beep. This really pissed me off as she now was insinuating I did something wrong. I told her it's fine no big deal and moved on once again. Strike 2. After this she then went to the waffle machine while I was still present .. made a waffle and said I made one and its perfect would you like it .. which I replied no and I said you can have it. 3rd strike. She then replied she wasnt going to have it and I really bit my tongue at this point..like lady you made a waffle to try to make it seem like I didn't do it right without asking me and then when I said it's yours you replied that your just going to waste it and throw it away while there are homeless and starving. Melissa Robinson you need a lesson in not interfering with guests visits if you think this is acceptable. This ruined my morning and stay. The rest of you there at the hotel including cleaning staff great job and your very appreciated. The hotel is awesome ,clean , the pool area is a bit small and that's ok. If it wasn't for Melissa Robinson and the bad room to start this would be a 5 star visit. The other staff get 5+stars. Melissa gets -5 . Unfortunately. I would expect you do better in the future and set a better example for your staff and don't bother or approach guests. Thanks to those who were great and treated me with respect and professionalism. I will return if she will apologize to me personally in front of staff, recognize your mistake and correct these actions for the...
Read moreThe rooms are nice, 99% of the staff are excellent and very kind - however, their bartender is nasty and should be fired.||||I was manhandled by the bartender after having 2 cans of Diet Pepsi and one Keith's beer between the hours of 6pm and 10:30 pm in my room. ||||Upon walking into the private gathering to ask someone attending a question, I felt that I should purchase them a drink. I had avoided the gathering until that point as I have C-PTSD which makes me very uncomfortable in new places and social surroundings. To be honest, I have been on my medical provider's long-term disability for this reason for over 2 years now (although I don't feel I should have to share that in this review to validate anything). I went to the bar and ordered one drink for my spouse. I had no idea it was just a cash bar, and upon bringing out my credit card I was grabbed aggressively by the bartender on my right arm. I was then paraded around being told that I was intoxicated and not part of the group. I was totally humiliated and the longer I searched for my spouse the tighter the grip on my arm got, leaving bruising and nail marks on my upper right arm in the days to come. After being grabbed so aggressively, I was actually in panic mode - far from intoxicated.||||I honestly should have filed a police report for assault, but I had an 8.5-hour international flight the next day and did not want the hassle from it, I honestly should have and probably still should to prevent anybody else from receiving this type of treatment. I don't want any trouble for the hotel, but I do want the hotel to make sure that ALL guests feel inclusive despite disability. It was very traumatic for me and in the worst setting possible for it to take place. ||||The bartender obviously was seeking/wanting drama or some kind of altercation which I certainly wasn't going to entertain or lower myself to his level. Once locating my spouse, I was released from the grip of nails and we exited the venue out of disgust and shock to be quite honest. ||||I'm proud of myself for utilizing the skills over the past couple of years that I've learned to not have an issue or fight or flight mentality, but the entire situation has left me very confused about how in this day and age someone can assault and treat someone so poorly. This bartender needs to have professional training, sensitivity training, and a general understanding of an anxious person in a social setting. It's pathetic. ||||This was what I believe to be my 4th stay at this hotel and I'll never be back, under ANY circumstances. I can only imagine how poorly his domestic partner may feel if he has one. ||||To all the rest of your lovely staff, keep being amazing - you are all lovely folks and are...

Anyone paying attention will notice that the number of electric vehicles on the road is growing fast. Transport Canada predicts a 15% market share of new vehicle sales by 2025 and a 60% market share by 2030. I expect that reality could even exceed these projections as almost all our friends are saying that they are seriously considering an EV as their next car. When I brought up the fact that installing destination chargers would be a worthy investment, the manager semi-dismissively replied that I was only the second person to have mentioned this. So, the likely reason so few people have brought up the lack of chargers could be because EV drivers are actively avoiding this BW and Liverpool altogether because there is only one very slow (6 kWh) Flo charger in town at the Sobeys next door (the CCS and CHAdeMO direct DC charging is faster but you need a special adaptor for Teslas). I was lucky that the Flo charger happened to be free and I was able to re-charge. The fact is that EV drivers plan their trips around access to chargers, and the only place nearby where they are more accessible is Bridgewater, which has 7 available. In other words, I am absolutely convinced that this BW is loosing customers due to the lack of chargers. Installing chargers should be fairly simple, would be a source of revenue for the hotel, and would attract EV owners since they would be the only lodging with chargers in a 40 km radius. Alternatively, having NEMA 14-50 outlets near some parking spaces would do the job but it would not be possible to collect revenue unless the hotel charged extra to park in those spots. This really is a case of ‘if you build it,...
