We stayed at Naturally Pacific for three nights as part of our three week trip to BC and VI. I wanted something "luxury" after moving around for the 10 days prior. ||The hotel is very nice, it has a nice feel about it (although not "boutique" as suggested), well laid out and never felt crowed. The room we had (King with a Sea View) was large and well appointed with a big desk and wardrobe and a sofa. ||We had a balcony although the sea view wasn't amazing - we could just about see the sea, but we could also see the development site just over the road. However it wasn't noisy and we didn't really spend a lot of time on the balcony. The rooms at the back overlook the mountains and the golf course.||The bathrooms are also very well appointed and had everything you needed, including being on elf only three hotels with a kettle on our trip. Water pressure in the shower was a little erratic.||We ate in Carve on our first night, the food was very good and service was good to a point... we had just finished our appetisers (oysters) when our main courses turned up before our plates had even been cleared. The server stood there looking round and just as we thought we would have to clear our own plates and oyster shells, our original server turned up and whisked them away (I've never had this happen before!).||We ate in Velocity on our final night as we wanted something casual and the food was also really good, service was friendly. The only thing I would say is if you're not using the driving booths it can be a bit chilly in there.||Breakfast was good although the serving staff were a bit hit and miss and always seemed surprised when someone asked for anything other than coffee.|| This hotel is what my husband and I call a "90%er". Almost but not quite. ||The main problem we had with this hotel was housekeeping.||On returning to our room the first day, it had supposedly been serviced but in actual fact all they had done was made the bed - the used coffee cups and glasses hadn't been replaced/cleared away, the bathroom hadn't been touched (we fortunately are fairly tidy guests!) but on the second day it did actually look like it had been serviced properly.||Our big issue was laundry. We had been travelling for 10 days at this point so needed to get some done. We found a laundry bag in the wardrobe but there was no indication of cost or how to record what was in the bag (my usual experience of hotel laundry). There was literally no mention of laundry in the guest handbook either. So we decided to stick a few essentials in the bag and get them done anyway.||When I spoke to reception on the first night on the way to dinner he said he would arrange to have someone collect the bag for us that night which we were very grateful for as we assumed it would be at least a 24 hour turn around. We were most surprised to find our laundry bag back in our room the next day after breakfast, until we realised that it hadn't actually been done. ||So back it went. That afternoon when we got back the bag was back again. Except this time it wasn't our laundry. More contact with housekeeping who did finally turn up with our laundry. However the only reason I could tell it had been done was because it smelt of detergent. They must have pulled it straight out of the dryer and stuck it back in the bag with no suggestion of folding, and certainly not ironing. My (new) white t-shirt had been turned grey. I have had better laundry service in the middle of the Masai Mara. If it had been clear that ironing wasn't included I wouldn't have minded but it genuinely wasn't even folded. They either need to improve the service (and administration of it) or make it clear guests what they are getting. I would rather have paid for the service than get a bad free one.||We weren't even sure if it was a free service until we checked out - it wasn't on the bill but I still don't know if that's because it was free or they decided not to charge us for it. ||I do feel like these few things added up to making my score 4* instead of 5 and they are such easy things to rectify. I would stay again and do recommend Naturally Pacific but don't expect...

Pros Hotel- brand new facilities and rooms. Rooms are well laid out and the decor is solid. hotel is steps away from the pro shop and first tee. Positive for golfers outdoor fire pits with food and drink service is very comfortable. location of property is conveniently located and close to everything. Usually a 15 min drive at most.
Pro Golf Course- immaculate conditions. Was very impressed. pro shop was adequately stocked and staff was extremely friendly and helpful practice facilities are well laid out and very solid to work on the game. golf simulators with food and drink is a solid option for the winter months. quirky layout but fun.
Spa pros- everything was amazing. The massages were excellent. The mineral pool was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Spa services. The management and service in comparison to the hotel is night and day.
Hotel Cons (sadly numerous) let me premise this with our check in experience. Upon arrival we were greeted in a timely fashion. Unfortunately the bellhop did not offer to help with bags even though he was standing nearby. After a brief introduction the front desk clerk started the check-in. We were booked in through the BC ferries package. The clerk was a little slow so a manager came over to assist. Sorry I cannot recall any names. But the manager has a gold looped ear ring in his left ear. When he came over he instructed the clerk to put us in 204. He then made a big claim as it was the absolute best view on that floor. As we never have stayed here we felt pleased and appreciated. So, so far it was positive. The cons as listed below will explain our frustration and lack of trust in consideration of ever staying or recommending this resort.
Cons- Suite 204 has almost no view. You get the roof of the pool and a small section of the first fairway. To the right is a residential property with cars and miscellaneous items scattered throughout. Not a oh wow look at that, as was the impression we were given upon checking in. We truly felt lied to. our room 204 shares a wall with the gym. It was fantastic being woken up at 7:00am to people dropping weights on the floor. Clearly 8am rule is not enforced. Also in the evening after relaxing in the sauna we would come back to shaking and banging from the gym. Again we felt lied to by management . The sound proofing of the hotel is non existent. Banging doors, thumping from above. Just terrible. Zero Golf Channel or sports on the TVs in the rooms. Bizarre for being a partial golf resort. the sauna has no temperature gauge or clock to know how long you have been in for. the hot tub was luke warm and definitely did not feel hot the restaurant is over priced. We paid $46 for pot roast. the carpets being so new, the off gassing smell was extremely strong and I would highly recommend having them professionally extracted to alleviate the unpleasant odor. We stayed for 3 nights. We only recieved housekeeping on Sunday. At 430pm on Saturday they had not even arrived to our room so we just told them to not bother. We had gotten back after a long day golfing and exploring. We did not want to be inconvenienced by having to leave our room for turndown service. -the staff were not overly friendly or accommodating. We mostly observed them all huddled together chatting and definitely not working.
I really wanted to be able to recommend this resort to friends in my golfing community. Unfortunately I can say I never will and will recommend staying elsewhere and just play the...
Read moreWe stayed at Naturally Pacific Resort over March Spring Break. Was quiet for the season in Campbell River.
Loved the new modern resort and price was reasonable for the timing of the season. We booked ourselves in a King Size pet-friendly room. Love that they provided a Yeti dog bed, towel and bowls (note that these bowls are more suitable for big dogs so my dog didn't use them). We got dog treats and tennis ball at check in (again geared towards big dogs only). Love the dog wash stations on the 3rd floor - great setup with different shampoo/conditioner options, towels and dryer. Great to use to clean up dog after some outings! The resort also has an on-site outdoor gated off-leash dog park.
Check in was easy with no wait. Very friendly front office team! Hotel offers 2 EV chargers complimentary with the Tesla plug. If you require different plug make sure to check adapters to ensure have the correct one. It was a bit of a wait for use at times but hotel does a great job notifying if you request at front desk support. Hotel may what to consider looking at adding additional ports or outlets in the future in the overflow lots as peak season might mean more demand for EV chargers for those who stay.
There is a resort fee at this property, which I felt isn't necessary as other hotels in the area don't charge this. However as a brand new hotel, they do have quite a bit of amenities.
The room was super spacious, new, clean and relaxing. We loved the balcony view overlooking the golf course. Nespresso machine in the room along with mini fridge and kettle and bottle of water worked well for us. Only complaint was the fragrance of the hotel amenities. It was too strong of fragrance. Was expecting a lighter more spa-like natural fragrance - as a marketer Naturally Pacific and having spa onsite, I felt that they could improve and use a more locally sourced spa product for their soaps/shampoo/conditioner (i.e. a eucalyptus or pine/cedar) vs a heavily scented UK product.
Onsite outdoor hot tub, indoor pool and sauna was really great to use after a day out and about! Even when raining we used the hot tub. Too bad steam room wasn't working yet. They also have these covered outdoor seating areas with fire pits that look inviting. We didn't use it this trip but if we come back definitely would enjoy it when weather is warmer out. Great for drinks or after dinner chats with friends/family.
We dined at Carve Kitchen & Watery restaurant onsite mainly because for the season on Monday/Tuesday most local restaurants are closed except for the brand name chains or pubs. Carve is a more premium elevated restaurant for Campbell River. It was enjoyable - expect hotel prices. Service was great and attentive.
Would come back again to enjoy the resort and hopefully book a spa experience next time and get some friends to enjoy the driving range/lounge experience (not free but looks fun!)
Hopefully they change up their in room soaps, perhaps revisit the resort fee, and have more small-dog friendly treats/bowls in the future to really give them that 5...
