Motel Chelsea — Hotel in Chelsea

Super cute, retro-style boutique motel and restaurant

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chelsea Motel and L'Oiseau Bleu Restaurant. We initially booked a night in February before our visit to the Nordik Spa as a getaway. Unfortunately, my husband hurt his back the day we were supposed to leave. The Chelsea Motel staff were incredibly accommodating and gave us a credit for a future stay.

We rebooked for June 20th and were not disappointed. The motel features cute, retro-style boutique rooms, and the restaurant shares the same delightful aesthetic. There are so many vibrant colors and stylish accents, including a charming phone on the wall with a rotary dial that plays music when you lift the receiver. The room had a cute record player and an old-fashioned mini fridge stocked with a great selection of drinks. Additionally, there were various food items and convenience items like ear plugs and eye covers available for purchase, making our stay even more comfortable.

My wife and I came from our 5 year dating anniversary this past Saturday. I had found out about this place, and since this retro aesthetic is extremely our jam, I felt my wife would love. Luckily she did. The bed in the room was quite comfortable, the shower was wonderful. The snacks available for pre-purchase or in room purchase were reasonably priced, with a greater selection in the little food market in the main building. (Highly recommend the dark chocolate popcorn). The in-room record player and records were a nice touch (Even if it took us sometime to realize for the play a vinyl properly. For fellow people of our age, start outside in with the needle it turns out). We had our dinner at the in house restaurant, which I will review separately. All the people we met we're friendly, service was fast, and all in all a perfect romantic getaway. Only thing that was a minor quibble was that the volume on the tv was pretty low, but that's a small quibble. My boyfriend and I stayed here in the Flamingo room last weekend and I cannot recommend the place enough. Decor was so fun, the bed was comfortable enough to convince me to buy the exact same set for home, the mini fridge was stocked with delicious drinkies for very reasonable prices. Little local treats in a basket also very reasonably priced. Dyson hairdryer in the bathroom along with locally made body butter, and super comfy towels. We went to the restaurant for dinner and it was awesome. I had the black bean burger, expecting it to be much like any other black bean burger I have had. I'm vegetarian and this is not my first rodeo with a black bean burger as one of the few veg options places. It was incredible!! My partner had the fish and chips and was really pleasantly surprised. Gave it a solid 9/10, and he's picky. We also had brunch the next morning, I had the eggs benedict with mushroom, and he had the huevos rancheros. Both were devoured in probably three minutes.
