We’ve had such great experiences with them in the past. This time, someone tested positive for COVID and when we called, the GM Jacquie, said that people have COVID or “heart attacks all the time” and they can’t cancel for things like that! I was shocked to be honest. She did offer to change our dates, but when we called back to do that after we sorted other dates that could work, we were told she was out. We left a message for her to call back and instead of calling us, she called Expedia and claimed that we were harassing her and wouldn’t call us back to discuss dates we could transfer to as she had said earlier. So unprofessional. I’m in tears. It’s nothing to do with the cancelation policy and everything to do with the manager’s rude and unprofessional way of dealing with other people. To actually say people have heart attacks all the time and this hotel doesn’t change plans for things like that. Wow! That’s what you want people hearing about your company??!? And then to not have the professionalism to follow through with what she said she would was also very dishonest and unprofessional. I loved this hotel and using it to visit my family. But after the treatment we received from Jacquie I don’t think we’ll feel comfortable being there again. Hopefully, Jacquie doesn’t work there long or was just really struggling and doesn’t treat others with such disrespect and I professionalism in the future because it’s a great place except for her. PS- Cody at the front desk was lovely and sweet. And so was the British lady who worked there. So, the long and short, If you go AVOID, JACQUIE- some of her employees are lovely but she is dishonest, callous and...
Read moreWe were there for a wedding and encountered a number of issues. The emcee had their room cancelled less than 48 hours prior to the event due to a "business extending their stay". He was not offered any compensation despite their site and emails stating a 72 hour cancellation policy but was only offered the suggestion of a hotel in a completely different city. The suite the bride was using for getting ready the morning of her wedding had not been properly cleaned from the prior guest and there was still food left in the fridge. Finally upon returning home I discovered a $5000 pending charge on my Visa despite being told nothing of this charge on check-in or check-out. I waited a week for it to drop off before contacting the hotel. When I did, I was told that it was a mistake and they had contacted Monaris and there was nothing else they could do about it. I was not informed at any point about the mistake prior to calling them a week later and when I called my bank they told me that they had not been contacted to cancel the charge.
The room and facilities themselves were nice, however the customer service we experienced was very frustrating. The general attitude seemed to be "sorry, there's nothing we can do about it". Our other guests which stayed at different hotels/motels in Lacombe experienced much better service so in the future I would stay with...
