4th stop on our Canadian tour and the only place that proved to be a disappointment.||Maybe we had been spoilt by the 2 previous B &Bs in Pemberton & Kamloops but the Rivers Edge did not come close to expectations.|Arrived to find that Andrea was in the midst of catering for a wedding reception the following day - almost the first words from her were that there would be no cooked breakfast the following morning as she would be too busy. Obviously we were not told this prior to our arrival and we were disappointed having booked the accommodation partly based on reviews of Andrea's cullinary skills.|Room (Pine Room) was small to say the least, with just a small gap round the edge of the bed and minmal wardrobe space. Ended up tripping over the luggage as there was nowhere to store it. No tv in room nor in the communal area reserved for guests. Obviously you don't go to Canada to sit in front of the tv but it is nice to spend 20 mins winding down and catching up with the news.||Shared bathroom was pretty basic, no toiletries and no spare toilet roll when we ran out in the middle of the night!||Scott was certainly welcoming and knowledgeable about activities in the area but this did not make up for the other shortcomings. Although we'd booked 2 nights at the Rivers Edge we decided to leave after 1 night. We were charged in full for the second night, a policy|we wouldn't have had a problem with had it not been for the lack of cooked breakfast on the first morning. We feel that some kind of |'gesture' would have been appropriate here.||We think Andrea needs to decide whether she is running a B&B or a catering business, as clearly the 2 are not compatible and we did feel like we were 'in the way' during...
Read moreThe second apartment, is the smaller of the two and has a ground floor lounge which is incredibly dark and dingy during day light hours and has insufficient lighting at night in the lounge and then two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs in the basement (thankfully the lighting is better downstairs). ||||As another guest noted previously, there isn’t a kitchen in this apartment, which is slightly misleading from the pictures, it should be clearly stated. My husband emailed the owners straight away to make them aware that we were unhappy with our accommodation - our email didn’t get acknowledged until after we left unfortunately. ||||To make matters worse, another family arrived in the upstairs apartment just after us and we discovered that there was absolutely no sound proofing between the apartments. We could pretty much hear what the other guests were saying, clearly hear the tv and it is not an exaggeration to say we thought they might fall through the ceiling at any point their footsteps were so loud. Safe to say, my family went to sleep when our upstairs neighbours decided to and got up when they did! ||||The positives are that the apartment was clean and modern...shame about...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted some time to explore Wells Grey Provincial Park - and we're glad we did this. If you like waterfalls, then make sure you stay in Clearwater for more then one night, as Wells Grey has hundreds of them. |Rivers Edge B&B does exactly what it says on the tin - it provides comfortable, clean rooms and excellent breakfasts (Andrea is a professional chef). We stayed in the Maple room, which overlooks the back of the house, so you can see the garden and river. The rooms are not en-suite - but there are only 2 bedrooms (and you are provided with bathrobes to use during your stay). |Scott was very helpful at giving advice for where to go - just tell him what you want to do, how long for and how strenuous and he will tailor the advice for you. He also let us borrow a copy of a book giving details of Wells Grey, which was great to have with us as we explored the area, and meant we could appreciate the area more.|This was a very nice B&B and we definitely stay here again if we came back.|Our favourite waterfalls were Spahats Falls, Helmcken Falls (this is the best known one), Moul Falls and...
