I want to start by saying that the staff at this location absolutely saved this review from being 3 stars or less... they were amazing to interact with and made my family feel very welcome. Staff in the restaurant were also fantastic and made our dining experience memorable. No issues with check-in or getting pool time. But this hotel needs work badly and unfortunately the areas we used were in the most dire need and that took away from our experience. I can picture what this place looked like 20 years ago when it was in better condition and it would have been an amazing family resort. There are lots of amenities including 2 pools and a playground for children, which we used every day. However, the indoor pool has issues with the ventilation and the air is so hot it makes it very uncomfortable to use. They are slowly renovating the hotel from top to bottom which is great but our room was unfinished and oddly bare. It was half complete and the workmanship on the renovations was horrible. One wall had been primed and patched but they hadn't actually painted it. The bathroom was old and tired with an old jacuzzi, dated fixtures and absolutely no decoration of any kind... not even a picture. It felt strange and cold, just like the rest of the room. A few randomly placed pieces of art, no accessories, no plants, no colour. If you see my pictures, the main living space had a pull out couch with a TV in one area, which was a "complete" space but still felt incomplete. The secondary sitting area was just 2 random chairs, no table or lighting at all (that space by the fireplace had no overhead lighting or lamp). There was a console table randomly in the middle of the one wall with an off-centre picture above it and it felt out of place. The dining area and kitchen had no decoration or art of any kind. The kitchen counter was made for bar stools but none were in the room. If you look at the pictures on the website of the finished rooms, this was absolutely one that was not complete yet they put us in there anyway. The bedroom was well furnished with a very comfortable bed (got a star for that) but the whole apartment is so badly designed that they had to install a vent fan in the wall - see the picture- so that air can get in there. Again, very odd and out of place. For what we paid per night, the location of the hotel and the amenities we could use, the condition of this room does not justify charging $200+ per night. I would stay here again only once the reno is complete and I can guarantee a room that feels comfortable and complete.

November 2022 We stayed at the Georgian Bay Hotel from November 28th to November 30th for my birthday. We rented a 2 bedroom suite on the 4th floor. I will now branch in to sections to review. CUSTOMER SERVICE I was greeted right away by a young lady whom I've forgotten her name. She was very nice and informative. They knew it was my birthday and once we checked in to our room we got a knock and it was Lynn from front desk wishing me a happy birthday with a peice of lovely chocolate cake and strawberries!! Any questions we had were answered and anything we needed was provided. Absolutely loved the staff here! ROOMS As mentioned earlier we did stay in a suite not a deluxe room. I have no idea what they look like. Our suite was a 2 bedroom suite. It had separate sides for each room, with their own bathroom, and balcony. Kitchen was stalked with anything we needed, stove, fridge, dishwasher ect. Room is very spacious. Beds were comfortable and lots of fluffy pillows provided. Both bathrooms have showers and jet tubs!! RESTAURANT We had breakfast ordered for pick up so we could eat in the room. The restaurant called a couple mins prior to being ready so we could head down. Tara was our waitress and she was very nice. I had eggs, bacon and home fries it was excellent. Bacon was cooked and crispy and home fries were the, best I've ever had. My mother had eggs Benedict and it was good. My friend had a blt with home fries, said best home fries ever. We did not have dinner but I'd assume it would be good too!! Worth a try! POOL Outdoor pool closed for season obviously. Indoor pool was 80 degrees and room a little hotter so you don't freeze getting out. It's salt water and very clean. Pool towels are available at front desk but are kind of small, I would suggest bringing your own towel. Pool is open until 10pm SPA Spa is under renovations but you can arrange in room services until renovations are completed. *there is only one snack machine, drink machine and ice machine located on 1st floor. It is a smaller hotel with only 4 floors do it doesn't take long to get there. All in all this was a great birthday and vacation. I would go back anytime and also recommend this Hotel. Read less

Title: Wonderful Stay at Georgian Bay Hotel! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars) Review: I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Georgian Bay Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made the check-in process smooth and efficient. The lobby area is beautiful and well-maintained, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The amenities provided, including a flat-screen TV, coffee maker, and mini-fridge, added to the convenience and comfort of my stay. The hotel offers a range of facilities that cater to different needs. I particularly enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, which provided a perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring the beautiful Georgian Bay area. The fitness center was well-equipped and clean, allowing me to continue my workout routine even while traveling. One aspect that stood out during my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were always available to assist with any inquiries or requests, and their genuine friendliness and professionalism made me feel valued as a guest. The location of the hotel is ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. The picturesque views of the bay added to the overall charm of the hotel. Lastly, the on-site restaurant offered a delightful dining experience. The food was delicious, and the menu had a variety of options to suit different tastes. The attentive service and cozy ambiance made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, my stay at the Georgian Bay Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, exceeded my expectations. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, convenient facilities, and a great location make this hotel a top choice for anyone visiting the Georgian Bay area. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning on my next trip!

Our stay at the GBH had some hits and many misses. |Hits - amenities (gym, bikes, pools), outside/outdoor space, nice lobby (could use some music though), ability to use streaming services via chrome cast, and proximity to area activities and restaurants. |Misses - 1. We did not know there was no elevator, and the front desk person did not mention it (Ryan informed us when he found us in the hallway and helped with our luggage). 2. The room was small and dark; not as we saw in the pictures, there was also only x1 armchair and no side table; we asked for another chair and were told that it was not an option. 3. The bathroom had a tub which appeared not so clean (probably age); hotel bathrooms typically don't have tubs but if they do, they are relatively newer or separate from the shower. Not to mention the yellowing shower curtain - we had to ask for another one. There should never be a yellowing shower curtain in a guest room. 4. Tiny soaps and shampoos - at some point we ended up buying our own because we got tired of constantly asking for them. 5. Cleaning service; we got mixed messages about cleaning; we always had to request for a garbage rotation and new towels which we feel the hotel should do without asking if they are not doing a full maid service daily. 6. On our 3rd night, there was a fire alarm at around 11:30pm. There was no intercom announcement, not information to guests, nothing!! We went to the lobby and two staff members did their best not to keep us updated. One kept saying that it was not a fire and the other one was walking around on his phone trying to figure out what was going on. No one asked the guests to remain calm or kept us updated; then after about 30 minutes, we were told we could go back to our rooms with no further explanation. Back in our rooms, the alarm went off a couple more times though briefly. Most disturbing is that the fire department did not respond to the alarm. Staff need to be better trained for this type of incident. The lady at the desk looked completely flustered. 7. On that note, some of the front desk staff are less than welcoming especially the lady who checked us out – when we said that our stay was ‘not bad’, she didn’t take the time to ask what could have made it ‘fantastic’ or ‘great’’. 8.AC/Heating unit very loud – needs upgrading. 9. Bathroom fan, extremely loud. ||Ryan was very helpful from the moment we arrived. We would like to recognize his welcoming and helpful demeanor. Generally, the hotel needs a lot of updating; it is showing its wear and tear. On a side note, because this property has a lot of vegetation and greenery, there should be a note on their site about potential wildlife that you my spot. For example, we spotted a snake by the pool – it was not large and we don’t know if it was venomous but it was a bit startling. It would help if we knew in advance that we may see/encounter some harmless (or not) on the property. |To their credit, the hotel responded indicating that they appreciate the feedback and will work on making improvements.|Unfortunately, we do not see ourselves returning to this property if we are in the...

Very upsetting!

First impressions was wow what a great place ! That was until we walked in the front door! Greeted by some very rude and unprofessional guest service employees! We then get to our room and this is a nice spacious suite. Very comfortable beds and pillows! But now the worst ever has happened, husband has a shower, grabs clean towel, dries his face off, looks at towel and there is 2 long brown stains on it! Very disgusting 🤮. And and we had 1 face cloth, for a room that accommodate 4 people! We proceeded with cleaning dishes up after we had dinner and there now a flood because the pipe under sink is NOT attached correctly, maintenance man comes up does a temp fix, and hands me two pool towels to replace our only two shower towels in room. Wake up in morning and make the bed, thankfully my husband chose to throw his extra pillow on the chair, because as I was putting it on the bed it has a VERY LARGE BLOOD STAIN on it ! I’m sure they had to have seen it ! Since there is 5 people in one room cleaning it! Bring pillow down to front desk and well no one can take responsibility for it, not sure how they missed but it happens(wrong answer) ! We had another plans for the day with another couple, so we asked to book the pool for our one hour block, well that was unbelievable we were refused until 645 pm , then the ladies at the desk says well I guess you can go now no one else’s is using it ! Apparently cause we stayed 2 nights our pool hour had to be chosen between 9-4, even though we told them we would not be here for those hours. Definitely don’t care about their guest needs ! Hallways smelt awful, carpet is coming up, definitely unsafe trip hazard! This is just our experience, the other couple we travelled with, booked a king suite as well, at check in the rude guest service just allowed them to check in saying nothing to them that they changed their room to king room (no suite) because they were full! Great but maybe discuss with the paid customer who again was surprising his wife for their anniversary and he walks her into a horrible room! Guest services could’ve told him at check in there was a change and make sure customer was ok with it ! They will not be getting my service ever again ! And I will be sure to spread the word via social media , speaking to family and friends about our experience!

Thank you a...
