Upon arrival and entering our suite we were met with a horrible smell. We called the front desk and complained about the smell. It smelled like urine or dog pee but after smelling all over the carpet I located the smell to the piping underneath the sink. The smell was very bad. My arms broke out in some form of reaction, looked like hives or bed bug bites but we were assured that no incidence of bed bugs have happened. We took pictures of my arm.
We had all sorts of issues with the TV trying to figure out the remote and had to make numerous calls to the front desk. One would think there would be a process map or note on how to use the remote to avoid such confusion. It never did get resolved but I do believe maintenance came in and replace batteries.
While we had a small kitchenette there were absolutely no kitchen supplies, no dish soap, no dish cloth, no glasses or coffee mugs.
The front desk did her best to deliver two glasses to us as we did not want to drink our wine out of paper cups!
The smell however we just had to put up with.
We had two young children with us and were quite concerned about what the smell was and why my arm reacted the way it did.
Finally the restaurant was over priced for the meals received. We ordered a steak for $36 and it came to us over cooked and for $36 way undersized, both thin and small. We raised this with the restaurant and they brought us new steaks, this time not even cooked!! We ended up leaving and going elsewhere for dinner. Very disappointed. Breakfast was fine as they had a great breakfast special. I had eggs benee every day and that was yummy otherwise the restaurant was a flop.
All in all our experience was such that we would not stay at this...
Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and unsafe. We checked in around 4 PM and checked out the next day at 10:30 AM. Here are the issues we encountered:
Swimming Pool: The pool had an overwhelming chlorine smell, making it very uncomfortable to use.
Cleanliness: The beds were dusty and had body hair, indicating poor housekeeping.
Safety Concerns: The hotel did not feel safe at all. While waiting in the lobby, we were harassed by two men. During the night, around 2:30 AM, one of these men aggressively knocked and then banged on our door. We called reception, and although the receptionist said she would check, the man ran away through the back door. When we called the receptionist again, she said 911 was on standby, but I really don't think they took any such actions. We were horrified by this incident.
The next morning, we saw the same man in the corridor. When we spoke to the receptionist, she mentioned that the housekeeping staff had also complained about harassment from the same guest, and although he was supposedly removed, he had returned. Upon checking, we found that the corridors had no cameras. We asked to speak to the manager but were told to expect a callback, which never happened. When we followed up three days later, the staff were rude and dismissive, saying they couldn't do anything about our complaint and could not remove any guest from the hotel. I believe all this was just a lie.
This was a terrible experience. One of my friends, on her first summer trip in Canada, was extremely scared. This hotel doesn’t even deserve one star. They ruined our...

My husband and I spent a night at the Quality Inn recently and had a terrible experience. Our room had not been cleaned properly, clothing items from previous guests were left behind in the room and Reeses Pieces chocolate bar wrappers were stuffed behind the bed side tables and behind the head board of the mattress which makes me question if they even took the time to change the bed sheets. Not only is this disgusting but very concerning for anyone that may have a peanut allergy!
When I approached the service desk and explained the state of our room, we were told to come back in the morning and we would be issued a refund. However when we spoke with the manager the next morning he said that they would not be issuing a refund or any compensation and that we should have been offered a room change instead. This option was not offered when I approached the desk nor did they offer to send someone to clean the room properly. The manager didn't even offer an apology just simply said we will make sure that this doesn't happen again.
When I called Choice hotels to issue a complaint about my stay and the terrible customer service, the woman on the phone apologized and offered us some compensation. However it has been a few weeks now and the company had made this process very difficult as people seem unresponsive and lack an understanding of how to complete the refund process.
I understand this was not a 5 star hotel but OMGSH - the service and state of the room has been beyond...
